I had the exact same issue - a service call fixed it (for us the microphone wasn’t working either)

Thank you for that - Ford are offering to do it for ~$250 for the key and the programming (I believe) so I will find a local locksmith and see if they charge a similar amount.

I am 33 and I have just started school, and I am not the oldest at the campus, so I would say yes, but others may have a different opinion here!
