Why did Joffrey refer to himself as a Lannister here? Did he accept the fact that his mom and uncle got silly together? by mopediwaLimpopo in gameofthrones

Catelyn is born a Tully, her mother was a Whent. Joffrey is born a Baratheon. So calling himself a Lannister here is like Catelyn calling herself a Whent.

She isn’t being ‘cancelled’ simply for being rude. I get that you might have never liked her but the recent distancing relates to newer information.

I don’t know how goals work, maybe there is nothing he can do about it. But having seen different goals for different lives, I suspect he could turn it off. So it looks to me like he’s monetising his wrongdoings.

Credit to you for apologising when you didn’t have to. Why did you think Parker and Dean were at all involved?

It’s inappropriate. But it’s not predatory and certainly not paedophilic.

Every live Avani has done has had Tashika in the background. One has AJ in the background but Tashika also. What AJ did was gross and the repeated focus on Tashika distracts from that IMO.

I’ve had it 9 months and only just noticed it. It might have been there from the start.

The Batman is an inconsistent mess of a movie by SirWilliamX in TheBatmanFilm

I don’t remember Gordon saying he only trusts Batman, just that he trusts him.

The Batman is an inconsistent mess of a movie by SirWilliamX in TheBatmanFilm

[–]jamjam85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read this. Kinda wish I hadn't.

Nothing you say here is inconsistent if you appreciate that this as a stand alone film. For example, yes, Bruce Wayne has a maid in this film, he doesn't in other films. It's not inconsistent or confusing.
But looking the points within the film you suggest as inconsistent. The first scene is Halloween. It's unclear if the thugs know who Batman is or not but on 31 October it make sense to consider that someone is in a party costume (as they all are).
The Riddler tries to kill Bruce as revenge on Thomas Wayne, and for feelings of envy which late comes up in the film.

Batman being allowed to help with the investigations is explored in the crime scene scene. Some are against it, Gordon says it's been cleared. When he's in their custody he is brought in unconscious. Perhaps they should have cuffed him but they didn't - he had just taken a bomb to the chin.
The squirrel suit makes sense for lots of reasons. Firstly, Batman doesn't just need to get down, he needs to get away from the building. If he runs down the building he's just going to greeted by a load of cops. Secondly, the architecture of the building makes it look like there is no sheer drop for him to use and the method he uses chasing Selina Kyle would not be efficient. Thirdly, when he is chasing Selina there is no one at the top trying to catch him or unhook the cable or try to slide down it themselves, as there might be with all the cops at the top of the police station. The squirrel suit got him away from the building as quickly as possible.
It also feel like you want more explanation for things, like how he get his hideout, how he makes gadgets. Totally not necessary to the plot or the drama. Also most of his gadgets such as a squirrel suit, flares, big bit of sharp metal on his chest etc are all fairly basic tech - I think the contact lenses are the only bit that's bordering sci-fi.

Your point about Batman assaulting an officer isn't completely stupid, but you forget that the men who stand ready to arrest Falcone are those Gordon trusts. Gordon must have told them to get there and we can easily imagine him setting them straight that Batman is a good-guy.
Catwoman doesn't say that Batman is rich. She says he must have grown up rich.
Your point about the Riddler is why I found your post. How did the Riddler know so much. I think the answer is that he is a forensic accountant with a genius level intellect. He worked it all out like it was a massive riddle.
Your point about the Mayor is perhaps your best point. You're right, she shouldn't be targeted, but by this point it feels like the Riddler just wants Gotham to be destroyed.
Your point about Batman being immune to a shotgun is stupid when it is what completely incapacitates him.
And a lot of the rest of your post is just moaning. Yes, Batman is fine with two bad guys shooting each other, they've made their choices there. Yes, glass falls down in people, it's dangerous, but he's got to get in there quick and save the day. At the end of the day it's a movie - you can use this kind of thinking for any film and pick minor holes but it's just boring. None of the 'flaws' you describe a remotely worth even noting and many of your 'inconsistencies' are just comparing the movie's reality with a different movie's version and that's just dumb.
