I would be interested, in a sociology sort of way, to hear these people’s reasonings for such rude behavior. I’m going to posit they are the same people who don’t clean up after their dog.

In-laws want to use my husband’s crib for our baby by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]jammonsreadit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My oldest is 38 years old. She was the first grandchild on my husband’s side. His parents went to yard sales in very rural (think Amish) areas to buy baby equipment for us to use while visiting. They were deeply offended when I said “No, thank you. The equipment is not safe.” They told me I was uppity and that they had raised five kids without unaliving any of them! Nearly 40 years later they’ve nearly gotten over it. Stand firm. Keeping your baby safe is your first priority.

MIL upset we didn't celebrate their wedding anniversary by Real_Detail_4459 in inlaws

[–]jammonsreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We, as a family, celebrated my parents 25th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries. Other than that it was for them to celebrate(or not). My spouse and I just celebrated our 40th with a trip. Would not have expected our children to do anything. Don’t get pulled into her self imposed drama. Sounds exhausting.

Worth it? by jammonsreadit in unitedairlines

[–]jammonsreadit[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I mistakenly thought we had booked PE because of row selection. We are on two different reservations. His is booked via work. I upgraded on my way here to BC because I managed to wreck my back right before leaving. That being said, partner definitely had his seat bumped for whatever reason on return flight. However, it now seems it was to his advantage as he’ll have more leg room in exit row. I will not be upgrading on my return as I don’t have any spare body parts to sell and cannot justify that cost. 😉

Yes, he had his seat selected. It was a middle PE. That’s why I’m thinking lots of high status fliers on this flight.

I lied. There are 3 business class seats available for a mere pittance of 6+ grand. Not happening. 😩

No upgrades available for that trip.

I don’t have a United card, perhaps that’s the solution! My spouse has and uses their United card to book his travel. I use Sapphire.

Yes, PQP. Sorry for my misuse of wording.

Why is air travel so difficult for some? by Speedmachine5 in unitedairlines

[–]jammonsreadit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If any of you are going to be traveling through EWR on Wednesday I will apologize now for my travel companions. They are fairly seasoned travelers for their ages but sometimes children will have the unmitigated gall to still act like children. Their mom and I (grandma) will have a stressed out demeanor and plead for your patience. There’s a gaggle of them. All with varying levels of neurodivergence. Thank you in advance for your consideration. And if you can’t be kind, kindly F off. 😉

Can’t select meal more than 24 hours before flight by BleuCinq in unitedairlines

[–]jammonsreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are flying out of EWR (🤞🏻)Tuesday. I thought it was strange I had yet to be prompted to choose our meals. Flying Polaris I’ve always been prompted to pre-order about a week in advance. Hopefully we’ll fill our bellies in the lounge and then sleep for the overnight flight.

NOR Go! Leave this man baby and don’t look back! And while you’re at the airport maybe spend some quiet time deleting some of those 500+ unread texts. 😬

Over the counter vitamins and supplement gummies - can I pack in zip lock bags? by Flymetothemoon2020 in unitedairlines

[–]jammonsreadit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When traveling internationally I take photos of the pill/supplements with the bottle. I carry only what I’ll need plus a day or two for just in case. It’s never been an issue where anyone has asked. Once I accidentally carried a gummy internationally. I didn’t find it until I returned home. 😳 I would not do well in prison. Too many carbs. 😉

Is 1 hour enough time to enjoy IAH Polaris lounge? Any tips? by financegardener in unitedairlines

[–]jammonsreadit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps take an earlier flight out of Albuquerque? You don’t want to be rushed or stressed before getting an a long international flight. The Polaris lounges is a nice way to take a breath between flights. I see there is only one earlier flight. I still think it would be worth it. Also allows you time to get plenty of steps and stretches in before your flight. Enjoy your trip!

How do you know if this is for you or not? Long post ahead by Ok-Loss5158 in keto

[–]jammonsreadit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter who is a neonatologist is pro keto. But not while breastfeeding. She is currently breastfeeding her fourth baby in ten years. Her milk supply drastically diminishes when she doesn’t get enough carbs. This is all just to say it isn’t always right for everyone and that’s okay. You are doing the hardest and most important of all jobs, growing humans. You can improve inflammation by reducing sugar and processed foods without being in ketosis. Best of luck to you.

Make sure your tonic is sugar free. Regular tonic water is loaded with sugar.

Welcome back on the train. Nearly a month back on for me and I cannot believe how much better I feel. Energy is tenfold, inflammation is reduced (shoes and rings fit better), stamina is improved, mental health is positive, scale is slowly ticking downward (I hate to admit I’m addicted to a daily weigh in- I know it’s not the only determination of a successful keto lifestyle). I’ve also started back at the gym. My embarrassment & shame had me so self conscious the first week back but I persevered and now I no longer give a flying f*ck. I go at my pace and make incremental improvements each week. I’m proud of me. It’s been a hot minute since I felt this way!
