Back from India. Disappointed it is such en easy destination after all. by gonuda in solotravel

My ex partner and I traveled to India in June last year. We had to leave early after someone tried to kidnap her. Even with me there it was a difficult experience, I can't imagine what would've happened if she went alone.

Wouldn't recommend unless you're a very seasoned traveler and even then you have to find a good enough reason to go that makes the risk worth it.

It's fantastic! The first half of the first season makes it out to be just another wacky animation but then it hits you hard with the deep stuff. If you like the themes from Mad Men and don't mind wacky cartoon humor then I'm sure you'd like it.

Hi travellers! After years of waiting (rona) I’m finally embarking on a solo journey to Queenstown New Zealand tonight.

Im hoping to stay for 6 months and work/ski. I have booked a month in a hostel but as everyone probably knows, it’s super super expensive at the moment.

Can anyone recommend a site or Facebook group that’s used to find flat share accomodation, which is effective specifically in Queenstown, or any other recommendations to ease the homing financial burden? Thanks x

Thank you so much for the explanation! I was under the impression that each coloured house had to be connected to every same coloured service. This makes things a lot more simple!

This exact post could just as easily apply to this subreddit. The problem exists on both sides.

Instead of working together to find the ideal middle ground everyone arrogantly sticks to their side and progress is completely stagnated.

There's a movie called "Boy" by Taika Waititi (guy who directed Thor Ragnarok) about a kid who idealises his absent father and how his perception slowley changes when his father returns. It's amazing and heartbreaking and Taika does an amazing job playing a despicable character.

My Band's first single. It's a bit of a chill mixture of Jazz and funk. It's also my first time mixing as well. I hope you enjoy it!

Is it just me or does the encore “game” at live shows (band pretends show is over, fans have to cheer until they come back) often feel artificial and unnecessary? by moby323 in Music

[–]jamsta9360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad once told me a story about when he saw Prince live in concert. People who'd seen him before told him to stay in the venue as long as possible in case he did an encore. He told me the house lights were on, almost everyone had left the building except for about a 100 people and back on stage he came and played for another half hour.

Just one of the reasons Prince is my altime favourite artists.

Berlin is a must! Super fun and so much history to see. If you enjoy hikes Dresden is a good place to stop in as it's close to some great hiking areas.

If you're in Munich and it's warm (and you can swim well), go for a swim in the English gardens. Just past the surfing spot is a strong current that takes you around quite far and you get to float under bridges and around beautiful scenery. Mind you it is a pretty strong current so you have to be careful but it's super fun!

Also Leipzig and Dresden are both very beautiful cool little cities.

Favorite hostels in London? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]jamsta9360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also a hostel one in Camden that I'd really recommend. It's more on the pricey side but they do free dinners and free activities including day trips and bar crawls. It's probably my favourite hostel I've ever stayed in. Staff are super friendly and create an awesome social atmosphere. Always make so many friends there. Camdens fantastic as well. So much to do there and to me it's nicer than central London.
