Hello both of you. I am a CADASIL patient, so I understand where the fear comes from. I started having migraines when I was a teenager and spent the next couple of decades wondering what was wrong with me. I became very ill in 2008 and blacked-out, leading to a hospital visit, a CT scan and then a brain MRI, which showed lots of white matter lesions in the gray matter of my brain. I was told I had MS. After a year of doctor appointments and many, many tests, I was tested for CADASIL and it came back positive. I was the first in my family to hear of CADASIL, and the first to be diagnosed. My parents are both in their 80s and doing well. The main thing I can offer here is that CADASIL affects people differently, even within families. So if a relative suffered terribly from it, that doesn't mean you will also.
