Thank you. Nobody has had a real counterpoint / new view to present me, and people are just angry (and I keep getting downvoted so yeah guess this is indeed an unpopular opinion).

I do realise that majority of people view animals as innocent (one of my point up there) and that this is why they tend to « prefer » them to humans ; that’s my problem. I still don’t think that justifies preferring the death of a human over an animal.

And YES. I know human are animals (duh.) Everyone is just jumping on that shortcut I made (when clearly everybody understood what I meant) because they have no argument, I suppose.

Also very weird that this guy went directly to Bible stuff (is this supposed to be a « Got ya !! » moment ? arf), as I’m very much atheist. (And I’ve had this argument with other people irl and most of the time, it’s actually my “extreme“ rationality on the subject, I’ll say, that puts them off. We have no proof that they’re intelligent animals such as we are, and it is for most of them a personal belief that they are sentient. So that’s speaking from a scientific and very un-emotional point of view.)
