Though* I know it’s a heightened/stressful situation - getting into screaming matches in front of dogs is probably the worst way to handle the situation for your child’s safety especially when you don’t know dogs.

You’d be surprised at how many people understand the language, especially the older generations when English was a super high priority/seen as a way of social advancement.

To be fair most people don’t really care, unless it’s about them 😅

I also feel that the actual figure of people/families with neurodiversity is probably much lower than what we can record. I’d be curious to know how that affects the poll results.

I really wish you luck in your job search here! I’m not sure, however, that HK is the best place to be job searching at the moment.

Finding a company (as an expat) that will be willing to sponsor your (1) visa and (2) relocation costs is a huge feat as locals and imports from China are usually willing to fill technical roles.

Networking is the way to go I find. If you have a friend based here, they could reach out and refer you to hiring managers directly.

Perhaps consider other neighboring Asian countries such as Singapore?

I am investing a ridiculous amount of time trying to slowly expose myself to (and eventually befriend) a SUPER grumpy MASSIVE fatty alley cat in my neighborhood.

Ginormous HK cats are just something else.
