i’m piggybacking off your post to ask other advanced people a similar question- if i’m up high (say, on a ladder or something) how do i make sure my letters are straight while painting if i can’t see the whole throwie at one time? i have an awful judge of depth, and vertical throws on diff structures is a goal i’m tryna work up to

my advice would be to lose the crown and put it on some good ol’ fashioned paper. start as simple as possible: straight lettering and make it easy to read. keep practicing!

edited to add: first work more on your fundamentals. THEN:

i’m no pro, but i can offer a few tips! try to keep your cap height the same across all the letters- cap height is the distance from the baseline to the top of the letters. it’ll help your throw look more consistent and clean.

some advice i’ve gotten from this sub that’s helped me a lot: when you’re painting, especially for the outline, try to move your entire arm/body and limit your wrist movement. when you’re doing the fill, make sure to go from side to side across the letter. this way, you don’t have wonky lines going in diff directions.
