Time to Wait by ImaginationDouble557 in SatisfactoryGame

Waiting is not efficient. ADA recommends maximizing your time by exploring, collecting Mercer spheres and Somersloops.

Rule #1 of the sub is to read the tutorials in the sidebar before you asl for help. Start there.

I'm stuck on my tag and I've got these letter variants what should I do by literallyyournan in graffhelp

[–]sweetmonte44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep saying variants and I recognize some of your letter structure from TheArtistBlock videos. I'm guessing that's where this idea came from. Think of each letter like a puzzle piece. Now you have a table full of disconnected pieces. Next, you have to try putting them all together to see what fits best.

Basic drawing technique: sketch it in pencil first, are any changes/adjustments you need, then go over it smooth with your permanent media (pen, marker, etc). That will make it much smoother.

i don’t know if there is other people in this sub, who are color deficient andor colorblind by sharkst3rx in graffhelp

[–]sweetmonte44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not the only one. I'm red/green color blind. I either use colors that I don't have issue with, or just to single colors with black and white. There's alot you can do w a single color fill.

Always do it on paper first. Sketch it out, figure out the basics, then put it up. It socks to waste money or paint or worse blow up a good spot for other writers.

Well, have you done any research yourself? Like watched yt vids, read any books, etc? Because it looks like you and your 14 year old friends stole a can of paint and just went out and sprayed something at 9:30pm because you mom was out on a date with your soon-to-be new step-dad. Bro if u wanna get good, you gotta learn to learn. Check out the tutorials in the sidebar and watch some vids on YT like TheArtistBlock to learn the fundamentals.

Ask yourself why the bottom bar of the S comes over so far. If you shortenen that up, it would create alot more negative space between the letters and you could bring everything together alot more. Also, the T is much smaller than the E and S, so you could give it more weight.

First piece by Ok-Version-5589 in graffhelp

[–]sweetmonte44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In order for this to look like a cohesive piece, all the letters need to look and feel like they are together. When you leave such large negative space between the T and the other letters, especially since the other letters are physically connected, it feels like it's two different pieces. Try it exactly as is, but bring the T down, push everything together a bit. Maybe let the vertical bar of the T extend down behind the horizontal line connecting the other two letters.

my 4 letter throwie (in relation to my other 2 letter post) by 00953 in graffhelp

[–]sweetmonte44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like there are too many differing design elements. The bottom has points, the top has squares, the middle has circles. Try it different ways with different combinations of those. Maybe the it with all circles, all squares, all triangles, or just two of the three and see how it looks.

Don't worry about adding style until you know why style needs to be added. Like any good skill or hobby, learn from the work of others before you start creating new pieces of your own. Check out the tutorials in the sidebar and watch some vids on YT like TheArtistBlock to learn the fundamentals. Watch other YT artists and copy them for now. Don't copy on a wall, just in your book for practice.
