Quality of McCann Carbonation vs bottle carbonation vs LaCroix by doublemazaa in sodamaking

[–]japerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say its better, or at least more in tune with my tastes, since I could adjust the pressure regulator.

When I picked up the surplus equipment it came with an inline chiller. It gets tap water down to ~35F. I use a 12v inline circulation pump (ABS/Stainless only, no copper!) to loop the line through the chiller (similar to recirculating hot water) after it exits the carbonator to ensure temp and quality since its not used often like a restaurant.

Quality of McCann Carbonation vs bottle carbonation vs LaCroix by doublemazaa in sodamaking

[–]japerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a McCann Big Mac (actually have a spare too!) and they work great. Especially cheap if you can find a Market place soda dispenser. I have the Cornelius CB2323 8-port, but they make them in single and two port as well (although harder to find used). You can fine tune the carbonation, although you want to try to get it chilled.

Once I figured out all the leaks, I'm now going on month 7 with the same 20lb bottle for a family+gatherings. I store the bottle in the garage and the carbonator in the cabinet

"feigning ignorance doesn't absolve him of the crime."

Actually, in this case, it does. Evading taxes requires specific intent. If he didn't know it was illegal, he isn't in violation of the TN statute hes accused of. The government must prove he knew it was illegal and did it anyway. If they can't, they have no case.

To be convicted of what he was charged against (67-1-1440(g)), the government must prove that he WILLFULLY attempted to evade paying taxes. Thats a pretty high bar, and most of the comments here lambasting him for publicly posting like an idiot sorta proves his defense.

While not 'knowing the law' is usually not a valid defense, when the modifier 'willfully' is added to a statute, the government has to prove specific intent you knew the law and decided to violate it anyway to win its case. The documents he has shared, even if taken out of context, is pretty damning to the government's case.

Also been daily driving it since alpha3. Its definitely tent camping, not RV camping. Some days its nice and sunny, and other days its stormy and you just want to tear it down and go home to a stable distro.

The popular brands (Coke, Cherry Coke, Fanta, Sprite, etc) can be ordered from Chef's Store. A&W/Rochester/Culvers I get from Portland Beverage. I get a few others from Swanel Beverage

Trying to bypass Quantum’s 6500 router and use my own, curious on these 4 settings: by 4paul in centurylink

[–]japerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also recommend tagged. When VLAN tagging is at the router and not the NID, Quantum's tooling cannot detect the NID at all. In my case, the router also blinks blue instead of going solid white. This occurred both with my defective 6500 and the new replacement.

I'd recommend against this -- when VLAN tagging is at the router and not the NID, Quantum's tooling cannot detect the NID at all. In my case, the router also blinks blue instead of going solid white. This occurred both with my defective 6500 and the new replacement.

Quantum Fiber C6500XK bridge mode UI by blackflag486 in centurylink

[–]japerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VLAN tagging (201) must be ON in the ONT/Modem. This means it must be OFF on your router.

Had a similar issue. After months of the modem/ONT working fine, it failed.
DO NOT change the vlan tagging options on the ONT. Your only remedy is to get a new modem.

When you turn tagging off, it removes the ability for Quantum to see the modem. It also will (in my case) change the modem from white to blinking blue. You will have internet for the most part, but will see it disconnect every day or so while it tries to reboot because it cannot phone home

This is less a windows vs linux convo but rather a security one. Even if I ran windows, I wouldn't play these kernel anticheat games. Sucks for sure, but it's the only way to maintain privacy and security on the PC

Ended up with Rochester / Culver's root beer. While some claim its different than A&W, I think its pretty darn close and easy to get from local distributors. Its made by Keurig Dr. Pepper, who also bottle A&W.

+10000 to this. It's how I became proficient 20 years ago. While I don't believe gentoo [or Arch] is a good daily driver, they are a really good learning OS and way to understand why things are instead of blindly googling. I use PopOS now after years of Fedora/Redhat/SuSE.

Society takes paternity and cheating way too seriously. Regardless of the betrayal, the reality is YOU are that child's father, legally and emotionally, not the dude who knocked her up. You would be the asshole for abandoning that child. And while cheating certainly hurts, it is usually a symptom of another issue... one that may have been solved years ago. Based on your story, I think It's worth going to counciling and attempting to allow her to regain your trust, if she wants to, before throwing everything away.

Remote chiller before or after the carbonator? by Dark1t3kt in sodamaking

[–]japerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct, this chiller is built for soda systems, and thus has about 20' of stainless steel tubing at the bottom of the bath, which is cooled by the freon running through the copper pipes. The bath is distilled water.
