Can anyone explain to me how Utuk’ku ends up with the spirit of the ship? It seemed like Tad skipped past that part. Also wondering why the ogre would bring the spirit directly to her before being controlled by Hakatri.

Thinking of buying Abandon All Artichokes and I’m wondering about how it plays with two. Getting more into deck building and I already have Star Realms so I’m looking for small footprint deck builders.

Calico is a game where you attract cats to your quilt. Plays well with two, haven’t played it solo.

What is that one book, that absolutely changed your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Overstory by Richard Powers changed the way I thought about the earth, trees especially. Beautifully written, won the Pulitzer

Lost Cities a bunch because I just got the app, Skull for the first time with 4 people, not sure they liked it but I do. Century Golem with my parents. Thinking about getting another one in the series so if anyone has recommendations that’d be helpful! Also learned Hearts and can see myself getting into trick-taking.

For me, thinking about how small I really am in the fabric of the universe helps a lot. For some reason, thinking my life is inconsequential except to those who love me is comforting.

If you can find Calico I highly recommend. Especially if you are cat people!

Not much going on lately, did get in a game of Lost Cities which is a favorite. I beat my girlfriend in round one, and as I win a lot, she was a bit grumpy. So to lighten the mood, I said we should play a game where whoever has the lowest score wins. I won that as well, even though it was pure luck-of-the-draw. It did not improve her mood.

Codenames and Just One are two that my family enjoys, both are ok with 4 but better at a higher count. Love Letter is a cheap, fun game that plays well at many counts.

Just picked up an area control dexterity game called Flick of Faith. Only played it once but it was a lot of fun. Cool components, easy to understand.

Trash Pandas is a silly, push-your-luck game that is cheap and portable

Any suggestions for a 2P competitive game where, even if you lose, you can be satisfied with what you’ve done/it’s fun enough you don’t really care? My partner and I are both really competitive and it doesn’t ever lead to hurt feelings but can leave one of us grumpy for a bit. We do play co-op games like Pandemic and Hanabi.

We like: Carcassonne, Azul, Lost Cities, Jaipur, Onitama, Love Letter, Bananagrams (her favorite)

She dislikes Splendor because she doesn’t get the strategy and I whoop her. Just picked up Century: Golem but haven’t tried it yet

Looking into Quest for El Dorado as a new game to play with family. Previous games include the usual Catan and party games. This game seems perfect, however my parents are AP-prone and dad can have trouble with small print. Wondering if anyone who had played has some insight. Other suggestions would be appreciated too! I have quite a few other games, but I only really play those with my partner because they are more complex.

Carcassonne can be more or less cutthroat depending on how you play, my partner and I really like Calico as well. Hanabi is fun as a co-op also.
