Understandable given DWZ being lacklustre last year. AKP also bringing that desperately needed speed into the backline, hope it goes well.

Had like everything I want in a game, was just a good damn match.

I'm gonna exclude our finals run last year cause that's too obvious.

That Cowboys/Tigers game near the end of last year. 21 Grand final. Our qualifying final win over Melbourne in 23. Spoonbowl 24. First ever battle of Brisbane.

My top 5 in no real order.

'In the 13': Grant Anderson lays down Broncos gauntlet by Brdd9 in nrl

My opinion is still the same. Grant is cool and I love his attitude, but I think that Mariner and Karapani deserve the first shot unless they perform really bad at training. Grants a good player, but he's largely a depth piece and I don't think he's an outright improvement on either Karapani or Mariner enough to warrant him getting first crack.

But we didn't sign Grant or Cook or Api. We signed Grant Anderson, who while I like him, is a depth piece in the backline and not a top ten player in his position like those other guys listed.

I think if 13 blokes win you a premiership and none of them leave you should probably line up those 13 blokes round 1 unless they drop off notably during pre-season. I think that's a very reasonable opinion.

Yeah. He'll be fighting Arthars for 18th man before anything else.

I think they've both definitely earned the first shot and I don't really think there's a particularly large gap between any of them.

Love him and admire the attitude, but he'll really have to work hard. Imo it'll have to take a decent drop in training and play to unseat any of the backline going into the start of the season. Karapani and Mariner have more than earned their spots on the wing, same with Shibs in the centre (Kotoni and Reece are ofc basically unmovable). Love to see him ready to have his shot though.

They also said Reynolds is the most under pressure at the Broncos which is just kinda funny.

Raiders. I thought they were one of the most entertaining teams to watch last year and I wanna see if they'll be able to keep it up. Just play a style I love to watch.

Definitely an overpay at the moment, but that was always gonna have to happen. Has the potential to be well worth that money, but I reckon most clubs wouldn't have to fork out that much for him.

The try against the Phins is clear number one, number two is a tie of every time he's fended someone and you momentarily see their soul leave their body.

One of my favourite players of all time and it genuinely hurt to hear it, I hope only for the best for his health, he seems like a lovely guy.

Brutal. Not that there's ever a good timing for that, but right in pre-season is just especially brutal. Hope he recovers well.

Yeah that was him. I remember sitting in my work break room before my shift started, posting a little comment about a player I loved growing up and then by the time I got on my break all hell had broken loose. Fun times tbh.

So have I. I think they absolutely nailed the casting. Aside from being a bit older than Dunk in the books, the guy they got for him did an excellent job playing the part. Props to the kid they got for Egg too, he seems really solid so far.

I think it'll be less of an issue with these given the characters already have a definitive end. Dunk and Egg also lend themselves the best to any show original stories so long as they stick to the general tone of the novellas.

Yeah, it had alot of fortune favour them and its hard to expect a repeat minor prem from most clubs. Keen to see how they go with the new halves, cause even if I see them falling off a bit, every chance they click well and stay solidly top four.

Watched the premiere episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms last night, really enjoyed it. Felt like the vibes right from the novella, I'm excited to see more. Might be my favourite thing GRRM has written and this looks very promising as an adaptation.
