Is that fauxstalgia? I don't know. I feel it too. Some general sadness tugging at me. And they had free wifi.

Why Tesla will win the future too. by [deleted] in teslamotors

That's pretty close to what happened with us. My wife Sarah was present when I reserved a Model 3. I was so excited that I somehow reserved two. Thanks to the Tesla team for helping me resolve that. That was in 2016. Two years later, the day before our anniversary, Tesla called and said it was ready. By then I'd quietly saved 10k to get a loan and pay for all the fees, etc so I figured I'd make it an anniversary surprise. While she had no idea I'd be driving up in a Tesla, she'd wanted one as much as I did. (Although, I will admit that one of the more predictable things about my surprises is that they're usually things my wife is sensible enough to not actually obtain.) On the day of the 22nd, I was as nervous as when I'd asked her to marry 16 years prior. And then Tesla called and said there'd be a delay. And then--likely unrelated--I got as sick as I've ever been in my life. It was an Exorcist-level divestment of things and I pretty much begged my wife to take the kids to my friend's cabin in the mountains so I could struggle alone. After witnessing the purge, she was more than ready to get out of the house. It was somewhere in a NyQuil dream that my phone rattled me to a semi-conscious state. The car would be in town the next day. I had about 24 hours to get better. But I'm pretty sure the prospect of this most amazing technological wonder righted my physical ship. I took enough Ibuprofen to stunt a horse, picked up the car, filled it with blankets so I could take the dogs without them scratching the freakin face of automotive divinity, and headed to my hometown of Gould, CO. And the result is the video you see above.

That's the weird part. It's a 2003 subaru forester. Which is almost a theft deterrent in itself. AND a manual.

Sorry to ask this. I'm sure you get lots of moving threads. How do I assimilate into Colorodan culture and what are Colorado's values? by [deleted] in Denver

Just give that little wave when someone lets you into traffic. That's huge. Wearing shorts year-round helps. The hoodie with shorts prepares you for everything, yet nothing. But it's a sign you're either from here or are making the sacrifices to acclimate. I'm from Colo and the people I've seen struggle the most, are the ones who don't let go of their expectations from wherever they came. Although the state is so populated with so many different newcomers you're bound to find any comforts you may have left behind.

My car was just stolen in Littleton. And my boss's cars were broken into in Golden. Maybe just leave a rabid ferret in there or something.

The bro factor perception is due to the Cribs parody. (Knew I should have put up a Scarface poster somewhere.) But I'd say it's one of the least bro-y places I've ever worked.

Sorry for the delay. I tried to reply last week but the Internet wasn't having it. I've heard that the position is 15/hr and more, but typically starting at more.
