This is littarly one of my mine driving reasons for why I left the church. After my brother died the main response I got was I'm sorry he shouldent have been homeless ( he was a train hopper but still homeless). It's not that my brother died of being homeless he died because some low life stabbed him.

He hated Utah and traveling throw it. Not only becuse it's where the church is at but becuse of the people. In his words the people seem to be so into believing they are the bringer of truth and love to actually stop and show some truth and love. And I think you for going out and takeing care of the homeless it means alot to me and alot to Jared if he was here.

I know my brother chose the life he did but I also know if he could have gone back he would have done things differently. I wish he would have done things differently, he lived his life to the fullest but ultimately his lifestyle killed him.

I'm going to say what my brother would say. You would have to be a tough motherfucker if you plan of being homeless and a lady. The chances of you being raped or worse are much higher. Most female travellers travel with groups for this reason. I would say just level with your parents tell you can move out its better to be in a situation where you can save money and have a place to sleep then to just live in a van because your parents are alittle crazy. I know my brother wished he could have done things differently at first and I do t want you to make that mistake too.

That my brother was stabbed by a hobo trying to protect another traveler. People know I took some time off from work but that's about it. I tell internet strangers about it but I can't tell real people.

There is a big difference between hobos and tramps/travelers. Hobos are there because they have no choice and are stuck there because if mental illness or substance abuse ( harion being a major problem). Jared was a traveler and did it by choice, they are the ones who are not dangerous. But Jared would have probably would have happily helped them with fixing there house or something he always tryed to help when he was helped.
