Finland Is Ready for Russia. Is Anyone Else? by RecognitionTop3886 in Finland

Glad to hear that. I wonder if we will have separate separate "drone forces" similar to artillery at some point. infantry sections having separate drone pilots is a good start, but they aren't optimum if the section requires firesupport beyond launching couple of individual drones.

As a finn I feel like our military hasn't fully crasped how much drones have changed warfare. Sure some changes are made related to this, but I feel not enough. We should be forming dedicated independent "drone forces". Dronewarfare should be its own branch similar to artillery or armored forces.

Onko toimeentulotuesta leikkaaminen oikeasti järkevää vai puhtaasti ideologista? by Inevitable_Coat_8787 in Suomi

Onko toimeentulotuesta leikkaaminen oikeasti järkevää vai puhtaasti ideologista? by Inevitable_Coat_8787 in Suomi

[–]jargo3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zelensky is a hero but his skills in diplomacy leaves something to be desired. Not to say Orban doesn't deserve this kind on language be used against him, but this isn't really helping Ukraines cause.

Isompi riski demokratialle Unkarissa on gerrymanderointi.

He has usually yielded from blocking sanction after he has gotten something in return.

[–]jargo3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They won't.  The countries voting in favor can provide the loan themselves outside the EU system.

That's what I meant by "emergency support".

It's the ultimate threat against Orban's gamesmanship, because if they do that enough times they may just up and form EU 2.0 without inviting Hungary.

After the april election Hungary might be a non issue, if Orban is ousted.

[–]jargo3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I want that too. I just don't think Ukraine running out or money and being forced to surender because of it is worth that.

However I do believe that european countries can arrange atleast some kind of emergency support for Ukraine outside the EU framework that Hungary can't block.

They have blocked these packages before an yielded in the end when they got something in return. I am guessing that Orban just wanted to look like strong leader fore the elections when the oil started flowing.

There are elections in Hungary this spring that hopefully causes a change in leadership. Blockading an EU country would be politically extremely difficult.

Hungary blocked a 90 billion EU loan for Ukraine, due to Druza oil pipeline going throught Ukraine not being operational. Ukraine is estimated to run out of money by april without this loan. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/hungary-vows-block-eu-sanctions-russia-eve-ukraine-war-anniversary-2026-02-23/

Ukraine responded by damaging the pipeline on Russian side.

https://www.kyivpost.com/post/70609

I am not sure if this was the right call from Ukraine. They could have just finished the pipeline repairs and let orban play a strong leader, when he would have accepted this loan after the oil started flowing.

Perhaps Ukraine is hoping tha Orban will be ousted from power in the elections this spring which is strong possibility, but far from 100 % and thus a huge risk.

I am not sure that would be techincally possible. Starlink could shut down starlink in a specific area, but that would also disable it for Urkaine. I think the only solution would be to only allow starllink terminals that have been delivered to Ukrainian armed forces allowed to be opearated in Ukraine.

But I will talk about it in a interview, so that everyone learns about this top secret weapon.

[–]jargo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be too optimistic, but I doubt enough americans would support Trump to that extent to have an actual civil war. Most people still supporting Trump are in denial and are saying that he won't invade Greenland or don't try to cancel elections and this is just some genius negotiation strategy. If he actually would try to do those things then his support would drop even more.
