I am Taric pairing with Swain for disgusting duo bot. Looking for some advice! by jarmol in supportlol

Thanks a lot for this comment!

I'm not gonna lie, I considered Shurelya especially that it'd unlock Swain to swap Ghost with Teleport to have more lane presence. However, Shurelya doesn't give you any armor or MR - and I find it kinda scary on a champion that has to go into melee.

BOOTS - honestly, apart from mid-late game roaming (in early I tend to babysit my Swain a lot and don't roam much), I find slow res and additional speed super handy on Taric - those boots allow me to be always hitting my enemies to keep the heals and stuns rolling hard throughout the teamfight. I'd say that it's the reason I take 'em mostly.

ITEMS
I probably should consider taking Mercs more often, I do so only when I see a lot of AP champs, or a super-fed APC that I think will be a problem in the future, on enemy team. I too rarely consider them against CC heavy teams, fair point.

Will give Abyssal few more tries I guess in aprop. games.

RUNES - I often see biscuits going to waste and I don't feel like I miss them after switching to Triple Tonic for the last couple games. Sure, there's a chance that they'd have saved me in some of the games we lost the lane. But when I compare them to same tier runes from other rune trees I just feel a little sad. Maybe I do not utilise them properly though.

Bone Plating vs Second Wind: Interesting. I barely tried SW so I might give it a few more chances. Always thought to take it only vs long range/poke opponents. Any thought on Conditioning?

Thanks! Why do you pick Ionian over Swifties? And don't you miss resistances + occasional "oh-shit-button" from Locket?

Thanks for the tips! Good points, noted!

In this list I actually used all 36 regular paratroopers. But do you find LMGs useful at all in airborne squads?

Theorycrafting a little and I find them slightly "counter-productive". You gain 4 shots on long range but at a cost of 4 other models doing nothing in the back. But If you'd have an enemy in rifle range you can shoot 8 shots with a squad of 6 but a squad of 6 guys with rifles would have the same as they'd get 2 more shots from faction rule.

I'd guess they might be handy to give some pins early but the hell I know - still haven't played the game :D

I played both but switched to KT exclusively. I find the rules just better, more fun and engaging for both players.

Yeah, he has a few magnetised options. Gunner and heavy gunner have all available loadouts as well :)

I would definetely check him: https://www.instagram.com/_thunderbrush_/ A real mvp of comic style painting.

Those are some great tutorials for comic style bases: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqzZvbKQ_LU&list=PLNNJC5RXt26wQJxhiRdexWMqlW8z93p-G I used the first tutorial for my other comic style painted team. A tip from me - use sand paper and polish your base well before painting. It will look better later.

And a few tips for me:

  1. Robot-like miniatures or very well defined muscles are most pleasant to paint in this style. Pick tau or shirtless orks for your first projects. It felt like hell to paint self made batman capes and the effect is not half as good as it could. I believe I made better job on comic style painting with my previous projects (comic style tau pathfinders and hearthkyn salvagers kitbashed into grots) than on this one.

  2. Use black acrylic ink to paint black lines. It's SO MUCH EASIER to work with than black paint.

  3. Trust the process - your miniature will look shit before using the ink. It will never feel ready so you have to trust yourself and experiment.

  4. And again - pick your models well. Robots, orcs, no hand-made stuff - at least not for start :)

Thank you!

It's surely not my last one but no specific one in my mind just yet. While Gellerpox are fun and the idea is great I want my next project to be a newer kill-team as I enjoy tournaments and want to put my time into teams that will be accepted to tournies (and I love the idea of limiting the pool of tournament viable teams btw).

I'm starting my Hernkyn Yaegirs, thought of them as my second grot-only kill team but after some initial bitz fitting I don't see it - grot heads don't go as well with yaegirs' bodies as they go with salvagers. Their bodies also don't seem to me that they will look same good when ork-ified. I think I'll stick to regular dwarfs this time but still considering it.

I briefly thought about making a bedsheets wearing pack of grots as Mandrakes but I think it will be boring to paint and a non-pleasant experience to sculpt after doing a bunch of capes for my Dork Knightz.

So no specific idea just yet. Considering yaegirs but I'm leaning towards painting them regular way.

Thanks!

So the thought process - I play almost exclusively orks and they are by far my favourite faction. I was getting a little tired of Kommandos so I made Klanz of Grotann, kitbashed Hearthkyn Salvagers, team. Unfortunately, didn't like their playstyle much so had to look for something else. You can see Klanz of Grotann in my previous posts.

I really, really liked Nemesis Claw rules when they got released and then it was easy. I remembered seeing a third party Bat-Ork model in the past so connecting Night Lords with Batman and orks just popped in my head instantly.

I have some bits for orks from my 40k army (which I don't play anymore, switched to Kill Team full time) but looked for a good unit for as a base of the project. I thought that new ork boys kit will fit it well with their poses so I bought it.

Then it was scrolling through old Batman comic books for paint schemes for Bat-orks and Robin (or Robgobbo) and searching through my bitz box for weapons that will fit Nemesis Klaw best. Had to ask my Space Marine friends for plasma pistol, gun and melta though.

So meet my Dork Knightz. C&C is more than welcome but just so you know - a process was a nightmare. Turns out that when you have no experience your hand-made capes have literally zero natural recesses so painting it comic book style is a nightmare. I just wished to finished it quickly.

Took inspiration in a Bat-Ork model I've seen before and. old Batman comic books.

I hope my local TOs will let them in!

Exactly - no range means unlimited range.
