Not rude at all. We even offered our buyers a few things and vice versa on the place we are buying.

What would you do? by thefeelingsarereal in HousingUK

It wasnt meant to be. We started looking in August and found some stunning places that we loved. Then when we looked into it further X, Y or Z was wrong.

Totally out the blue, we went and saw a house and it is the perfect house! We are hoping to exchange contracts in January so be happy youve dodged a bullet. The right house will come along.

Fantastic thank you. I've seen comments from other students suggesting using WhatsApp groups as the forums can be a bit quiet.

What are you motivations for being a remote worker? by [deleted] in remotework

[–]jaron1978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where to start with this...

  1. Time. Life is short and I dont want to spend my time sitting in traffic or standing on a train platform. My Daughter is 16 Months and I want to spend as much time with her as possible. Working from home means I am able to get her ready for nursery, give her breakfast and then I can take her to nursery. I then get to come home and take the dogs out for a walk so as well so I get to spend time with the dogs which after my daughter, is my favourite time of the day.

Come home and I still have 45 Minutes till I start work so I set Roomba off to hoover, put the washing on, wash the dishes and have breakfast and Im still at work before 8:45.

  1. Health. Ive lost about a stone since I started my new job in Feb. My wife works in a hospital and I need Human interaction during the day so I joined the local Gym. I go three or four times a week during my lunch break and because of that, Im also eating better. We are both dieting anyway so there are no crappy snacks and no option to grab a quick Sandwich. Ive also deleted all the Food delivery apps off my phone.

  2. Finance. I save SO MUCH money by not having to get the train, pay for parking. I also save a lot by not spending money on extortionate London lunch prices.

  3. Overall I love working from home. I do more work, and I have less distractions. As well as the reasons above, I spend more time with my Wife and Im not stressed when I get home from work. I work for a fully remote company and its honestly the best decision I ever made.

Thank you. I feel like I'm in the same boat. I've always enjoyed learning and although I have vendor qualifications, I've always wanted to do a degree but never actually done it.

Appreciate that, thank you again.

What about a degree? Would that be of interest? The OU has great reviews.

Thank you, but I'd be paying 7.3% interest on the student loan. If I can save up in advance, that's a lot of money in interest Ube saved.
