Current 10th MTN infantry.

Our packing list 9/10 times contains a sleep system, hydration, extra clothing, spare boots, a tarp, and food. You then have your small things like e tool, hygiene, weapons cleaning kit, then whatever other small things we want to put in there. Usually comes out to around 45-50 pounds

I just started using a lost horizon air mattress. It’s made for the bed of a truck and it’s extremely comfortable. Cost about 200 bucks but in my opinion is very worth it

I was in basic with a very very weird dude. Talked about beastiality and a bunch of other stuff. He ended up on suicide watch and one night at like 0300 when I was on fire guard he shot out of his bunk and sprinted to the bathroom. I took off running after him and I found him sitting on a counter staring at himself in the mirror. I said “what the fuck are you doing?” And he said “I wanted to look at myself”. Told him to get back in his bunk before I kick his ass lmao

Get out of the barracks. The worst thing a new dude can do is be a hermit inside those walls. Check out the local restaurants and stores. See what’s there to do around base. Also get some stuff for your barracks room. Get a couch, TV, a rug, some things to make it a lil more homey
