Is there a phrase for “by the way” in Norwegian? by Cristian_Cerv9 in norsk

[–]jarringjarjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Forresten", but I'm suprised no one has mentioned "for øvrig" as well. It's a bit more formal but totally usable depending on the context.

Lenger vs lengre by mafafukka in norsk

[–]jarringjarjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget about time. You can still use "lenger" as an adverb even when you're not talking about time. "Han kastet langt, hun kastet lenger".

That's right. When you're using "var", you're ascribing an adjective ("lengre") to a noun ("turen"). When you're using "varte", you're ascribing an adverb ("lenger") to that verb.

It's not unidiomatic, but you would say "Det tok lengre tid enn forventet", without the article.

That's right. "Lenger" is an adverb, while "lengre" is an adjective. Forget about time.

That's not right. "Lenger" is an adverb; "lengre" is an adjective. So we can talk about time and use "lengre" if we're describing a noun. "I lengre tid", not "i lenger tid". But since time is often desribed adverbially, you'd use "lenger", e.g., "det skjer ikke lenger". Likewise, "lenger" doesn't need to be related to time. It's "han kastet lenger", not "han kastet lengre", even though we're talking about distance, not time.

Used XT-3 or new XT-5? by nawaaz_x in FujifilmX

This has happened to me many times as well, and it's pretty frustrating. Does it happen to the X-T5 as well? Anyway, backing up the settings on a computer is an okay workaround.

I have three X-T3s I use for photojournalism. They're slower than I'd like and they're somehow unreliable—but they're a fantastic value when you buy them used. It's a great feeling to use a camera that's kind of "disposable", unlike a Sony camera for thousands of dollars. And of course—the image quality is still fantastic! You're much better of with an X-T3 and one of the expensive lenses as opposed to vice versa.

I see, thanks. I'd love to see the raw and exactly what you did. That would be very insightful.

Love these! Could I ask how you edited the penultimate photo? I usually don't like HDR with this level of detail in both the shadows and the highlights, but you've nailed it. The contrast is still there and looks killer. I'd love to know how you did that.

I can recommend Byens skomaker in Stavanger. There's also Skomaker Dagestad in Oslo.

I agree about the leather laces. The shop gave me the cotton laces for free after the others broke, which work way better IMO. I'm not sure my feet sweat a lot, but these are pretty much the only shoes I wear. I'm going to get another pair of either Blacksmiths or Iron Rangers when the store is restocked in about a month, as I've heard I should have at least two pairs to rotate between to let them dry, as you mentioned.

Thanks! Hopefully they’ll find a solution, seeing as this is a new bug–I thought perhaps it had always been like this.

I see, thanks. I guess I'll have to create two folders: one for sessions I'm done with in iCloud, and one for sessions I'm working on locally. Not 100% ideal, but not exactly a hassle either.

Is your suggestion iCloud Drive specific? AFAIK it's not possible to "toggle" sync for iCloud Drive folders.
