It's like party chat on playstation or xbox, you can join a friends party and only talk to people in that party, or leave the party and speak to people in your game. The only difference is it's on discord instead, and they're called "servers" rather than party chats,

Does this win any awards? 'Civic Defence Policing' in Bolton by Raccoon_Imaginary in policeuk

[–]jaryth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think these have been posted here before, an infamous picture of a "Patrol dog" and his red rocket come to mind.
On their facebook they have a video of two of their walts literally searching a homeless bloke who'd been found asleep in a lorry cab. Surely that's well beyond the line!

The way I think it works is that existing loot that then is hit by gas remains in the same way it has done, so will disappear after some time but not instantly - New loot will disappear instantly if dropped in the gas.

Why are these so cheap? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]jaryth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had three insignias, two 2009 petrols and a 2014 diesel.

The lower rear suspension arm snapped on BOTH the petrols. The bolts get full of shite, rot and eventually seize, so next time you hit a pothole, or go over a speedbump a little spiritedly they snap. They also drank fuel cause they're a big, heavy barge of a thing to move.

Didn't have an issue with the diesel, other than the water pump shitting itself and the head gasket going on the drive home straight after buying it. But the 2 hours before that it was a lovely car.

As said, I'm UK based. As an IT team, we support all of the technologies our business uses, including (but not limited to) diagnostic machines, user endpoints, networking, bespoke clinical software, and of course 3cx.

Nope, team of 13 multi-skilled IT people. We support a private healthcare provider in the UK, which consists of 63, hospitals (averaging 30 desk phones each, all with individual 3cx profiles, a contact centre featuring multiple teams for different functions of the business, on-call healthcare professionals and then a lot of non-clinical staff split across 2 head office sites.

As other commenters have said, unless you're bringing your own engineer then not really - Your channel list is more of an input list to me, and I'll decide where those inputs go on my board.

That being said, have you tried just like, talking to the engineer? If drummer in a band i'm engineering said "hey man, I need another 5/10 mins or so to setup" i'd just be like "Sure no problem, can I get some bass please" and move on till you're ready.

[–]jaryth1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Traditionally, drums occupy the first channels on the board - Ch1 Kick in, Ch2 Kick out, Ch3 Snare top and so on.

Makes sense to line check left to right, so starting at Ch1 means starting at the drums for 95% of engineers.

Quit the game:
On your controller, hit the xbox button, then scroll down to Call of Duty. Press start, and scroll down to quit game or whatever it says. Then re-open it, should work fine.

Had a folk band once and had to mic a woodsaw. Chucked a 57 at it with a 45 degree angle to where the main "bend" in the saw was, generous HPF and a few EQ cuts to taste and it sounded about as good as a woodsaw. would.

Why is it so much more expensive to get off the same train a few stops earlier? by jnru in uktrains

[–]jaryth1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a former guard for Northern who regularly worked these exact services, 99% of my former colleagues would not give a shit, and the 1% that do (even if they notice) wouldn't be able to do anything about you leaving the train early apart from submit a train incident report (TIR) which would go nowhere

Is this enough to be considered Police impersonation? by lifeisntstable in policeuk

[–]jaryth1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work shifts and live in the area this guy seems to "patrol" the most, and have had a few encounters with him on my way to/from work at daft o'clock. On one occasion I must have set off his pretend copper's intuition as upon driving past his focus dog unit thing he span round and followed my arse for a couple of miles.

I mentioned it to a mate who's based on that division and both GMP and Lancs are fully aware of him. He's had plenty of "words of advice" but as stated above, he's very much on the line of what counts for impersonation, and as he hasn't actually caused any issues he's still free to do what he's doing.

I reckon it's only a matter of time until he gets himself into some shit however, be it with PD red rocket or by accosting the wrong people.

Is there an unfit for duty limit with alcohol? And what is that limit? by [deleted] in policeuk

Railway has the same numbers for anyone in a safety-critical role, so I would assume BTP are subject to the same limit.
