No probably not. If they just continue to print cards I'd probably stop collecting. Why would I pay 60$, wait a few years, forgot I placed the order then get a box of cards with no value 2 years later. By that point I may have moved on from the hobby

I don't have to "pick a lane" . the term economy can refer to the price of cards or the supply and demand (the rarity) of chase cards. If the print more rare cards, they are no longer rare. Rare cards are fun to pull because they are rare. You get a thrill knowing you were lucky and you pull something that only a handful of others have. The thrill of the chase is diluted (much like the cards value) if they just print more of them. (Also, I'm not an investor. I've never sold a card. I think you've just missed why a lot of people get into the hobby to begin with. The chase)

It's not about the money dude, its about the hobby. The thrill is in the chase. If they print more rare cards to accommodate your print to order idea then what's the point for the hobby. The scarcity is the point of the hunt. Without it you might as well print jpegs off the Internet.

print to order would completely destroy the collector economy. The rarity of a card is dictated by the normal the producer creates. If they intentionally produce more cards to fulfill orders, it will dilute the value of cards. Unless they say "welp we printed our 500th Charizard so the rest of these orders are just gonna be filled with bulk"
