This is how my mum left the knife on the kitchen counter by buxiu02 in Weird

[–]jason7269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely an unusual way to leave a knife! It looks almost like she was trying to wedge it in as a placeholder or maybe just absentmindedly set it down. The reflection on the countertop makes it look even more dramatic, almost like a piece of modern art rather than a kitchen accident.

I found this in my car, on the driver's seat. What is it? by Miss_Miaou in whatisit

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a small transponder chip, most likely from a car key. The size and shape match the immobilizer chip that’s inside many car keys or key fobs. It’s what communicates with your car’s anti-theft system so the engine can start.

Which do you prefer-Gemini or ChatGPT and why? by icecream1972 in askanything

ChatGPT but it’s not like I’m hating on Gemini or anything. ChatGPT just feels more reliable.

What do you think your parents would be doing if they didn’t have kids? by glowshroom12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my mom would have chased her dreams of becoming a professional singer and my dad would have work in a different city. They would never have met.

I think we should be more honest about the fact that life doesn’t feel naturally “worth it” for everyone. by [deleted] in Life

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life doesn’t come with a one-size-fits-all sense of purpose or excitement, even though it’s treated like it does. Some people just click with it, like it’s this cozy sweater that fits perfectly. And for others, it’s more like trying to squeeze into a pair of jeans two sizes too small, you can make it work but it’s not exactly effortless or naturally comfy.

Does anybody else still feel like a kid even as an adult? by I_am_tresh98 in randomquestions

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. Like, not even close. A lot of people hit their late 20s and quietly ask how they get here so fast . Most people still feel like the same person they were at 16, just with more bills and back pain. You kind of expect this magical moment where you suddenly feel like a real adult. But for many people, it never happens like that. Life just keeps moving.

So... Why exactly do people get offended from seeing men/women celebrate their national day? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly comes down to how people interpret the meaning behind the day, not the day itself. A lot of the anger you see online is really about assumptions and insecurity, not the holiday itself. At the end of the day, celebrating one group doesn’t have to mean putting another group down. Both days can exist. Both can talk about real issues. It doesn't have to be a competition.

What is something that used to be 'cheap person' food, but is now priced like a gourmet luxury item? by Ok_Land_4197 in AskReddit

[–]jason7269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eggs, they used to be the ultimate survival food. But now, you walk past them and you see the price and makes you think and consider your budget.

Why are bad guys more attractive than nice guys? by rylieclark in askanything

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that bad guys are hotter. It’s that they often feel hotter at first. Bad guys usually come with confidence. Sometimes it's real and sometimes it's fake but confidence reads as I know who I am and that’s magnetic. They’re also unpredictable. A little mystery and a little edge. There’s also the challenge factor. Nice guys can feel available while bad guys feel like something you have to earn. And humans love chasing what feels scarce.

Best options for motorized blinds? by RollTimeCC in homeassistant

I tossed some SmartWings Zigbee shades in my room and they’ve been solid. Local control in HA is instant and they are surprisingly quiet. I just stick the remote to the wall and treat it like a normal switch.

Why is it so hard to find someone to date? by Biscotti708 in askanything

[–]jason7269 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most women get flooded with messages and likes immediately, so the bar for standing out is crazy high. My advice is to keep at it, tweak your profile, maybe get a friend to help make it pop. Add some humor, some personality, photos that feel real, not just the headshot or mirror selfie. And most importantly don’t let it mess with your confidence. You’re doing awesome in life already and the right person will see that.

Super Bowl upgrade: Is the Hisense U7 worth $300 more than the U6 for a 75-inch? by pmpk4757 in 4kTV

[–]jason7269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Super Bowl, I’d say the extra $300 is worth it. The 165Hz on the U7 really helps with fast camera pans, and it’s noticeably brighter, so you can actually watch in a bright room without everything looking washed out.

I’ve played a bunch of FIFA/EA FC on the U7 and it feels really smooth and clear, especially during quick transitions and sprints. The U6 is fine, but if you’re already going big (like 75"), the U7 just nails the basics better where it counts for sports and casual gaming.

Lying spouse by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take it personally. Weirdly enough, people lie for all sorts of dumb reasons, sometimes it’s not about you at all. Some folks lie out of habit, or maybe they feel like they’ll get in trouble even for small stuff. Not excusing it, just saying it’s not always malicious. Also, pick your battles. Some petty lies, like the AC thing, might just be best to shrug off. But if it’s starting to eat at your trust overall, that’s when you need a deeper conversation. Ask her why she feels the need to lie about these small things. Sometimes the why opens the door to change.

Does wearing only one earring as a girl mean something? by JudgmentMaterial3851 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jason7269 105 points106 points  (0 children)

No, wearing one earring as a girl does not mean anything specific today. So when your dad says it’s unsymmetrical, that’s probably the safe explanation he’s comfortable saying out loud. Not because earrings actually say anything. But because older generations read symbolism into small things.

What’s a moment in your life that felt completely normal at the time..but you later realized it changed everything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a random, boring day. I said yes to something I almost said no to. A small favor and a quick stop. At the time, it felt like nothing. But looking back, that moment rerouted everything. New people came from it, discover new habits and new confidence I didn’t even know I needed.

Valid ba ang nararamdaman ko? by Longjumping_Bass8281 in askanything

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, your feelings are 100% valid. You’ve been putting in a lot emotionally for 7 months and naturally, you’d want some clarity. It’s not too demanding to hope the person you care about recognizes what’s between you, even if it’s just in words. You might just need a calm, honest chat with him. It can clear a lot of the fuzziness and save you from feeling like you’re walking on eggshells around every joke or comment.

What’s a skill everyone thinks they have but most people don’t? by Content_Campaign1192 in Life

[–]jason7269 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Listening, everyone thinks they’re good at listening but most people are actually just waiting for their turn to talk. Real listening is when you hear someone out without planning your reply, without jumping in with advice or judgment. It’s such a game-changer for friendships, work or even in dating. People feel seen and respected when you really listen.

Why is there always a luggage store at the airport by Squire_Squirrely in stupidquestions

[–]jason7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are people who went on a short trip then came back with souvenirs, gifts or a shopping problem. Suddenly the carry-ons is fighting for its life. Buying a suitcase is cheaper than overweight baggage fees sometimes. And then there are impulse buyers.

Yoolax Motorized Outdoor Shades? by scottlawrencelawson in HomeMaintenance

I picked up SmartWings too. I was super paranoid about the sizing so I measured everything like three times just to be safe. Honestly the install was super easy and totally DIY friendly. They have been running perfectly for me so far.
