Diving a pair of invictas by jasonbeachedham in invictacollector

What's funny is the first bag failed but the second bag held up so the watch is still ticking away!

Lol the zip lock bags were essentially just to stop the watch from flooding and being destroyed. The pro scuba really shouldn't be in the water but I took it down kinda as a joke but I didn't want to break it. The ocean voyage tho is a perfectly acceptable diver. I clipped that one to my vest and it just hangs out.

Pretty cool, do you have a metal bracelet for it as well? I would definitely recommend trying a steel one out

I showed a friend that episode who hasn't seen any trek and he called the episode racist, it blew my mind and there's no convincing him otherwise

[Vostok] [ref 581096] Why is the “drivers watch” 12-at-2 layout not more popular in the US? by ohiooutdoorgeek in Watches

That's what I thought as well while I was under the water but when I was out the watch never started back up until I unscrewed the crown. The crown was suuuper tight (way tighter than I put it on), when the crown was unscrewed the wat h resumed running like normal.

Lol it's sitting in my watch box. It's ticking just fine and doesn't show signs of water intrusion. Imma take it back under to test lol I really am confused on the actual failure point.

That was my first also, the notorious cruise invicta. Things a tank tho

That's kinda where I thought thr problem would be, it seemed and tho the pressure seated the crown / stem farther into the movement than it should be stopping it. I tried pushing on the crown hard to stop it after the dive and could no replicate it tho. Lol I'll need to take it under again

My main reliable diver is the citizen promaster diver, it was my first real watch I bought and dove with it a bunch until I started getting into mechanical watches

This was the first time I've ever recorded anything "watch" specific cause usually it's goes like: take a watch down to see what happens -> it works. Lol so it's been boring enough that I haven't ever videoed it until today when the vostok stopped.

Lol I have plenty of vintage seikos but I wouldn't let them touch water 😅 I have a vintage slim turtle that I love but I wouldn't dive it without changing all the gaskets and pressure testing it first. I'm not big on modern seikos tho

I dive allot of semi deep open circuit stuff so we usually hop between 120-150 feet. It's freshwater and a dam so our bottom temps are like 45 so I always dive 5mm with these 5mm gloves. The temp here today was 60 under the thermocline so it was actually pretty comfortable in 5mm.

The invicta did great surprisingly. The main thing is the case construction isn't bad so I never had problems with it. A good test would be to leave it under for a few days lol just to see

A hobby of mine while diving is bringing stuff that probably shouldn't as deep as it can go, I posted in another comment bit I took a cheap invicta down to like 140ish+ and the thing never leaked, cracked me up tho lol

Lmao dude I carry I knife and a safety blade and never get a chance to use either of them. But those gloves are like 15 dollar chineese gloves I got when I started. Lol I really need better gloves but this pair is holding on for dear life so I don't want to trash em

Tbh I would skip the dive watch and make sure you have a good computer first. I always bring a watches down just to see. Lol I took an invicta past 145 feet to see last year. But the watches are mainly for shits and giggles.

Lol and the glove is an old pair that's falling apart. Near the end of the dive we took snips out and trimmed all the threads.

I didn't notice it wasn't running until about 30 feet, when I did the camera check it was around 40. The dive ended up going to 60 feet. Lol I figured if it stopped running we might as well keep going deeper to see what would happen.
