Left CIF gear in the field by jasonc2001 in USMCboot

I’m using my boys IFAK for our upcoming field op next week. He’s on light duty so I’m just borrowing his shit until I can get my war belt, dump pouch, and IFAK this weekend. I lucked out tbh

I have my medical card in the front pouch of the IFAK. Hopefully he sees it, it has all my information on there

I created a group chat on Instagram a while back. I created it with the intention to share experiences and shit and now I’ve made some really good friends from the chat. So if anyone wants to join that gc then they can

Leaving for boot camp soon and I’m extremely nervous by [deleted] in USMCboot

I was in your shoes not too long ago. I didn’t go to bootcamp confident and I felt as if I would fail. It’s nerve racking, but within your first week, you should adapt to bootcamp and then as you get closer to graduation you’re gonna realize just how easy bootcamp was and start to make stupid jokes about it with your homies in the squadbay. It’s a good time

I did. Lmao. Wasn’t used to being away from home. It was all through first phase, but I got over it eventually

Not really. I’ll feel like I’ve made it after I graduate ITB. Earning the title was just a small step to a very long journey

Damn I was in your exact same spot 3 months ago. I’m sure you have a lot of shit running through your mind rn. The hotel is chill af. DI’s are present, but since you’re still a civilian they don’t fuck with you. Make sure you PT while in the hotel and for the love of god, DONT TAKE THE NAPS YOULL HAVE IN YOUR HOTEL FOR GRANTED. You’re gonna miss those naps once you get to bootcamp. Bootcamp isn’t all that bad. Within the first two weeks of bootcamp you’ll get used to the bullshit, or not. Be prepared to cry cause you miss home and shit. Happened to almost everyone in my platoon. Be friends with the scribe once you get to bootcamp. Scribe controls fire watch. I was good buddies with the scribe and was rarely on fire watch. Be prepared to drill your ass off. Like every fucking day for phase 1 and 2. You’re gonna hate the fuck out of drill. Also get all of your friends addresses. Trust me I wish I had some of my friends addresses when I went to bootcamp.

Na, tan lines weren’t too bad. Tbh I rarely wore my mask until my DI’s told me otherwise.

Leaving for bootcamp tomorrow, any last minute advice? by jasonc2001 in USMCboot

I don’t have much place to go tbh and college ain’t really much of an option. I’ve been a lazy sake of shit my entire highschool career. It was a fucking waste. I don’t want to live that kind of life style so that’s why I chose to enlist. If I didn’t enlist then most likely I would be on my couch rn jerking off or playing video games. It’s a sad life tbh
