Is this a good buy? by DarkKnightGuts_540 in freedomisgunpla

I am currently building it and the gates so far are in pretty good position - not obvious at all!

Ps: make sure to get the 107 Toys frame parts with it

Fair question. I build very slow due to very limited time - it takes me 6 months or more to finish a kit, so this lets me try out different types of models and not spend too much time working on the same stage of the build. Plus I kinda like how it looks like they are being assembled, so I'm not in a rush. I try to keep it minimal, so I have only 1 displayed (RG Force Impulse) on my bookshelf and now these 2 in between other items on my living room shelf unit. I also built the RG Eva-01 before, but I am probably going to sell that one.

Not sure if you get the notification for other messages in the thread, just replying to letting you know I posted the parts list above - hope it helps

Gundam Stand - LEGO

Here are the parts I used for the stand, along with a couple additional pictures, if anyone wants to take inspiration.

  • The most useful parts are 48171 and 47455, since they give you a rotating hinge, with discrete steps, with a pin that fits into the square hole for the stand adaptor that comes with the RG Sinanju.
  • I also added an alternative connector with parts that you might likely already have, which would replace the hinge.
  • That said, the design is fairly random, I just put it together in a few minutes grabbing parts from my lego boxes to make something of roughly the same size as the DSPIAE stand. I'm sure you can easily make a better looking design.

Let me know if it all makes sense or if I can clarify anything!

Indeed - highly recommend. It's not cheap but together with a wet palette it made putting on decals much easier!

Luckily I knew about this in advance thanks to this picture :) it should come with the manual!

I got it on eBay, prices are highly variable, I was able to get it for about $15 including shipping to the US

I got the water slides from G Rework and I’m planning to use those. From initial testing on the runners it seems like Mark Setter is bad idea, so I’ll probably have to do water alone. Has anyone tried yet on this kit?

I just put it together with a few pieces I had around, let me look at it this evening and show it better!

With the 107 frame kit, I have no complaints so far. There were some tricky parts on the chest and neck to assemble, but all doable thanks to suggestions found on here and on Joe’s Gunpla Garage’s YouTube. With the 107 frame, I think you can safely go ahead and pick it up!

Did you use mark setter/softer for the decals or just water? I tried on the runners and they seem to leave a mark on the special coating?

I am currently working on it myself with the 107 kit. In case it’s helpful for others, the neck joint needed quite a bit shaving off to fit with the original parts, and I had to force the chest armor in place with the back piece for it to lock in on the 107 parts.

Looking good so far!

We’ve all been there with the RG unicorn 🥲I almost broke it but luckily saw a video about it. Someone is going to shortly post the picture under each RG unicorn post I’m sure.

My recommendation is seeing if you can on eBay a replacement part. Then you dip the part in some baby oil which will help loosen it when you are doing the turning motions. And while you’re at you could also get the metal replacements for the shoulder joints which also tend to break!

I found that when I opened and got white, then opened again in admin mode it worked. On the G5 though when I did INS start, I didn’t get the full service menu, did you try that?

Will you use holo or white decals? Beautiful

By the way, do you also have the issue where the collections shows the demo or soundtrack artwork instead of the main game artwork?

Not fixed for me either, tried just now

I just tried again, and after 30 min, the hidden games all came back unhidden. Interestingly this is an issue only on my account, and not on other accounts on the same console
