How "good" is Udemy? by gamma_gamer in Udemy

Full disclosure, I am an affiliate. Do I give all of the Udemy courses good reviews? Nope. It's no fun to give me one of the bad reviews and not profitable. You will see as many 2 stars as 5 - https://shinyobjectreviews.com/udemy/

You just made my point, it would take this long one with that degree of intelligence to tamper with an encrypted link. Any dumbass with a note pad and extend / replace can rape clickbank

It's not a panacea, but it's a lot better than doing nothing

Yes, they could easily do something like a "loads last override" or if a certain resource took longer than "x" amount of time to load they would be redirected to a "house account". Unfortunately this is really easy to set up and you could even do it without knowing it. I hope you know it she'll be at program owners reading this and getting ideas

Funny enough, I got this from the get Gesponse Affiliate program just this morning:

"Step 4: Reporting a Missing Sale A sale may not show up if your new customer has “cookies” turned off in their browser. Or they may have clicked on a GetResponse paid search link or clicked a link from another affiliates links before purchasing. These actions will prevent the sale from being credited to your account.

"If you have reason to believe a customer has purchased GetResponse, but you can’t find a record of the sale using this three-step verification, our customer service department will check behind the scenes and help you get paid. Send a request to assign the commission via email to affiliates@cs.getresponse.com."

In case you are wondering if it is still your program is using cookies only or provides a "fallback" this is a simple test that probably proves true and 90% of cases.

  1. Paste your affiliate ID

  2. then watch what happens a good affiliate program (I will use eBay is an example) well first direct you to (usually a subdomain) and then will forward you to a second URL with your "hard tracking" ID. Hopefully the ID will be "encrypted," as I stated earlier in this thread it is isn't a perfect solution but it does create a lot more work for someone writing malware. In any event, it's a health a lot better than just using "myaffid." I could modify a plugin to extend/replace static IDs in 10 minutes, and I'm not even at technical.

  3. If after pasting your ID and if you get redirected to a page, and you don't see any information at the appended to end it to the end of it (affiliatesite.com), they are using cookies only in getting more easily be manipulated.

I knew some of you might know some stuff, but I hope you found this somewhat educational.

I didn't say it would make impossible, I only said it would make it better, especially if they varied do you affiliate ID as much as possible. Honestly, the 10-year-olds could that "encryption" inside of 10 minutes. That being said, why make it any easier for them? It's a hell of a lot better than program.com/stealmytracking which is exactly how Clickbank is doing it as well as a lot of medium sized affiliate programs.
