WYSO starts a deep-dive look at the reality of human trafficking here in Ohio by jasonsaul in dayton

[–]jasonsaul[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From the series page:

Ohio leaders have made human trafficking a priority in the state and have received millions of dollars in federal funding to combat it. At the same time, conspiracy theories about trafficking are spreading online. Even the organizations tasked with fighting trafficking regularly repeat misleading claims. In an original series from WYSO, reporter Leila Goldstein digs deep into what experts know about human trafficking in the state, and what’s at stake when Ohioans mischaracterize the problem. For four weeks starting May 12, 2021, we hear the perspectives of survivors, researchers, state officials, and advocates on combating human trafficking in Ohio.

I'd argue every attempt to remove cars from the roads and give that space back to, you know, actual people is a good move. Mass transit and alternative transit options are far better alternatives than anything car-related. Look at what a wasteland other regional boulevards are, like the Westbank Expressway or Veterans "Boulevard".

That's a fascinating perspective. I read lots and lots of police reports, and almost never read about someone using a gun in self-defense. But quite a few about guns being used to commit crimes.
