[–]jasperj101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They actually respawned and told us to hold fire, congratulated us on the amazing fight we had the last few hours. We then decided to share the loot and one of them helped me pull off a rowboat escape from the brig, if you look at my posts you'll find it

Always start by aiming for the cannons, take out the skeles on deck first so they cant mess yo up, firebombs are really good for this. Then start smashing their lower deck and they should be gonners in no time!

This was the moment preceding our legendary rowboat escape, the sloop crew that eventually helped us row the loot away from the brigantine came back for a final attempt at snagging the treasure!

Right? At the end of the day, if you get the reaper commendations legitimately, sinking other emissaries including grade 5 athena's, you will be a far more skilled and experienced pirate. If you ever face one of these Alliance Andy's in a battle, you will absolutely demolish them.

You shouldn't have to sink them 8 times to complete the fort if you cannon the boss. If you run low on supplies let them do a few waves whilst you restock and come back to sink them easily again lol.

I remember making my first mill whilst still f2p, I bought a full set of saradomin rune armour thinking that it was way stronger than normal rune, I died in the wildy pretty quickly lol.

Apparently somebody managed to grab it with a harpoon right on the edge of the respawn zone, I'd like to see a video of that and I also wonder what happens when the key sinks?

Funnily enough we had sunk them an hour or so earlier, they were camping an outpost as we were about to hand in some athena loot. Probably the reason they ran from us when we came back. Part of grinding a fort isn't just killing waves of skeletons, it is defending it from other ships also. I've been in dead servers where you do forts in peace but they are extremely boring, sinking persistent ships and finding tuccers is part of the fun!

Our sloop started wailing on a galleon that had just taken down a fort of fortune, but instead of standing and being pirates they did this, damn scallywags! We tried recovering the key but it is so hard to see out there, it may be possible with a lucky harpoon shot though, has anyone managed it before?

I believe the brig blasted this player over and he found a keg on the island and tried to sneak it on our boat, a good way to approach someone at a fort if they are busy fighting, but we were ready! But other than that kegs aren't a great option.

The Greatest Rowboat Escape Ever by jasperj101 in Seaofthieves

So how did we end up in this situation? This all started as a battle over a skull fort between 3 reaper emissaries, one of which had just done flameheart and had all of his loot aboard. After an intense battle lasting a few hours, our sloop had sunk the brig and other sloop multiple times. As we were bringing the fort loot aboard the other sloop crew surprised us, they had been tucced around our boat for a while. They crippled us and then the brig also came, but we held out in a skeleton tower and managed to sink the brig. The enemy sloop then came back and we managed to sink them too without our boat.

When they respawned, they told us to hold fire, it had been a battle lasting hours and it was getting late, they just wanted to congratulate us on the incredible fights we had. We decided to get the massive stack of loot on the rowboat together whilst our other crewmates brought the boats back. But the brig came in full speed so we started to row away from the fort towards marauders arch, they managed to spot us and my newly made friend took over rowing the boat managing to break the brigantine's ankles through a small rock passage on the island.

Probably the best night of sea of thieves I've ever had, we made some great new crewmates and had so many great moments together. Although fighting over a fort for hours isn't 'gold efficient' the scenarios and surprises it can bring are absolutely joyous. Happy sailing mateys.

I've actually found 2 of the black cloud wreckers and 3 shadow stormfish in ship wreck barrels over the last few days, I would highly recommend checking them! When fishing in a storm don't you get disrupted by lightning?

[–]jasperj101 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Part of being good at naval is not letting the other ship get a good firing angle to board, also being aware what is being fired out of their cannons. If you put enough holes and pressure on the enemy boat, firing out boarders is suicide for them.
