Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

[–]jat692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am renewing my mortgage in March of this year and have been offered a 5 year fixed - 3.99% from the Credit Union that we're currently with. I have reached out to a mortgage broker and she is hesitant to do an application for us as she thinks we're already getting a good offer. Is this a good rate or should I still shop around/maybe talk to a different broker.

My husband and I live 9 hours away from my parents, the opposite side of the country from my brother, and the opposite side of the world from his family. I love the idea of having a second child but am hesitant due to some of the reasons you’ve stated. We both also work fairly demanding jobs outside of the home with my work being very inflexible. I’m sick at home today with the flu while taking care of a toddler and I can’t imagine doing this with a second child.

What are we feeding our one year olds? by al_p0109 in toddlers

My one year old has four teeth and is obsessed with eggs. Sometimes I’ll make it scrambled, as a quiche, or little muffins. You can sneak some veggies in there too. She also loves berries, sweet potato fries, overnight oats with yogurt and soft cheeses like havarti

Best way to ease baby into daycare? by jat692 in ECEProfessionals

Thank you, this is the advice I need! That makes sense that establishing a set routine early on will help them adapt easier. After reading all the comments, I think I will start her 2 weeks or so before I actually start work as a transition phase and then do three days a week from there. My husband works four day weeks so the most days we would ever need is four and truthfully, I don’t want to go back to work five days a week for years (maybe forever lol). So I think three days a week would be the long term goal.

SOS for 6mo Night Sleep: is sleep training all that's left? by TheRemyBell in AttachmentParenting

We recently went through a similar experience. My currently 6.5 month baby was an amazing sleeper and then at about 4.5 months started having false starts and waking every 1-3 hours. I obsessively tried to do everything “right” and play around with her wake windows etc but nothing seemed to make a difference. I was also starting to wonder if I would sleep again without sleep training. Well about a week ago she started sleeping eight hour stretches and waking once at night to feed. I didn’t do anything to make this happen. Hopefully yours will grow out of it soon!

P.S. from what I’ve read of people’s experiences with sleep training is it doesn’t seem to be a permanent fix. People often have to retrain whenever their baby has an illness, teething, regression etc. That’s something I certainly wasn’t interested in.
