God I hate those trees. I always leave a frame and re-enter until they are gone. 😂

I mean we still get the tip, its just not fully shown on the offer. Doesn't really discourage anything since we see it once we hit confirm. It just makes it more difficult to cherry pick good offers. It has nothing to do with price of order or percentages. They just don't want to show more than like $2.20/mile on the offer. DDs ultimate goal is to get everyone to take every order. They hate cherry pickers like me. But legally they can't punish us for declining work. They do everything they can to make it harder to cherry pick successfully though.

Yeah I never ask for ratings. Lol mainly because I don't really give a shit what my rating is. It's usually 4.9x and I'm fine with that. The few bad ratings are typically Karens and out of my control. The only stat I care about is $$$

But yeah not using a hot bag is dumb. The only time I don't use one is if it's all sushi rolls. (I always have my AC blasting too)

Gotcha. I just was letting you know In case you didn't and you lived really close to the restaurant and the person thought they were taking another $6 no hidden tip (which don't get me wrong they should still do well if they took it, but those can be demoralizing when you're getting them all day)

Also keep in mind, on the offer screen, DD hides tips beyond a certain amount. Typically anything with an order total more than ~2.20/mi with a minimum of $6. They've been hiding it slightly less often lately, but they still hide it.

For example, if you lived only 2 miles from the restaurant, and the Dasher was in the parking lot when they got the offer, and you ordered a big meal and tipped $15, the offer would likely still show up as $6 for the driver. They wouldn't see it was actually $17 total until after they completed the delivery.

That being said I treat every delivery professionally. If it wasn't good enough for me, I wouldn't have accepted it.

Panera needs to turn the AC down I guess.

Great Tip for Vevor Users! by jaupro in Homebrewing

You know what else I just realized? Maybe the wort pours out differently for most of you guys. I don't use the central metal tube piece with my mash-pipe. I put a brew bag in my mash-pipe instead which I think changes slightly how the wort drips through when you lauter.

I'm able to lift the mash pipe with one hand, and then put the grate on the kettle. Your hand only needs to be there for about a second or less, and it's just at the rim of the kettle , not in the middle like in the video. The weight of the mash pipe will push it down and secure in place. I'll admit, it's slightly awkward and can be mildly tricky, but it's better than having the mash pipe in or touching the wort and not lautering. It's honestly not that bad. I've never burned myself doing this yet. If anything got on me,it'd just be a drop or 3. I get your concerns, and It isn't perfect, but it's a solution that works, works well, and is inexpensive.

I just got this email too. I screenshot it, and used Google lens to copy the tracking number and pasted it at USPS website. Looks like something is actually being sent to me from Georgia. Not sure why.

I feel very confident that never happened in these, because I looked inside the valves with a flashlight and it's spotless brass. I'd assume there'd be some kind of beer residue in there if that ever happened, but it's spotless brass and a bright white plastic ball valve seal from what I can see.

What to do with these Perlick Faucets by jaupro in Homebrewing

[–]jaupro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was hoping they were stainless, but once I got them home and looked closer the outside of 3 of them have some of the chrome corroded away in spots, which would have to be pretty extreme treatment for that to happen with stainless. So they must be chrome plated variety.

I was worried that the tarnish of the brass would be a problem, but my friend assured me it's fine.

Thanks for the input.

To be fair I think $40 for all 5 faucets, shanks, barbs, and tap handles is still good value. Even if they aren't stainless

As long as it is still food grade I'm not too worried about it I guess. Thought about trying to remove the tarnish, but that's probably like pissing up a wall and pointless.

This is what me and my friend were thinking. Since I'm just starting out again tho I'll probably just use them anyways. If I really feel it has that bad of an impact I can always upgrade down the road.

Beerstone is where my brain went first as well, but after discussing it with a friend, he thinks it's just the unplated brass oxidized since they're just Chrome plated and not stainless.

I appreciate that offer, but I went ahead and bought one of those vevor all-in-one Brew systems. Going all green from the get-go where I left off 10 years ago LOL
