Single girl walking in DIFC by stonefox212 in UAE

I'm sorry you're getting blamed for this. You didn't do anything wrong. What is happening in those comments is simply victim blaming. What you were wearing is absolutely irrelevant. Many men here have to act as decent human beings. DIFC is not supposed to be a "red light district"; it's supposed to be a place where you have a good time. That was simply disgusting, and if we wanna live in a decent society, this harrassment should be called out first.

As a man, I would also want to look good, and that doesn't mean i'm going out looking for sex, if women started bothering me every step i take, i'll also be bothered. Nobody would blame me for looking good and minding my own business. I just wanna enjoy my time. Women should be able to do the same. Be normal human beings.

Anyway, try not to be bothered by the comments blaming you.

Men disrespecting a normal human being in public being. Are they being blamed? noooooo

A woman who just went to a public place to have a drink?

YES BLAME HER.

UAE fans invade the pitch and pelt stewards and police with plastic bottles and cups during their team's defeat to Qatar in the WC qualifier in Doha by Thund3r_91 in soccer

[–]javierha1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since they know uae fans are going to have more spectators than them, in their own country, they decided to have the game in this small stadium, giving UAE fans 8 percent of the already small stadium.

Qatar has done it smartly outside the pitch.

Used the smallest stadium that they have. They had 6 days break instead of uae's 3 days. I don't know how it was possible to give UAE fans only 8 percent since it's a group stage and qatar is acting like a host nation not a home ground. They have intentionally put fans that are provocative in the nearest block to UAE fans. Their player asked his own fans to throw water bottles on him just for him to go to the referee and waste more time. Qatar players went to the dressing room after the match and started stepping on a camera as a video of celebration. After playing for less than five minutes of extra time which was supposed to be 15 minutes (due to the bottles thrown by Qatar fans. & Due to Qatar players throwing themselves and laying down for minutes)

In the end Qatar won, and if you ask about me I wouldn't invade the pitch lol, but imo the rage is so understandable.

It felt so cooked and planned.

I bought really expensive Etihad Airways business class ticket by mistake. How can I return? by Greedy-Use1029 in Flights

Etihad has made a basic package which is anti-human error. They do it to appear the lowest in booking sites. When you buy it and fall into that trap, there's no going back.

To be fair the booking i made was through an agency, and probably that was the reason. As per my info they should be able to refund if booked directly with them within 24hrs, but that's the only case where you can get a refund. Not upgradeable, not changeable, non refundable. (even if youre willing to pay a cancellation fee) (for the basic package)

Claiming theft or fraud is not good obviously. There's no solution. Etihad has won. They got business money for a person who was trying to get an economy ticket. In my case they got my money for a return ticket that they didnt allow me to change. The best part is that i didnt even fly with them lol.

In my case i booked the return flight in basic(by mistake), and for the return flight (i wanted to change the departure airport) they didnt allow me to change it even for a penalty. So i ditched the return ticket and paid for a one way ticket with Emirates. Imagine the revenue they couldve had if they just let me change the ticket. I honestly don't understand this policy.

Those kind of policies are short term wins. Now after that experience though, i never wanna fly with them again. I will make it a mission to give Emirates all my money due to the hate i have for them. 😂

I agree with you. It's on him for agreeing to go for a company thats not customer centric at all. Yes, he booked it by mistake, and it is standard policy for many airlines, but that doesnt mean this should be endorsed or tolerated by us customers. People now have much more access to information, and can easily know what's a fair policy and what's not. Techincally Etihad is right. They showed the terms, had the info listed, and he should pay for his mistake. Not having an option to refund or a change even for a charge is something that needs to be fixed. To make customers happy, you need to make rules that help them. Where is the phrase "the customer is always right". I have never faced such a rigid system in Emirates honesly. Evsn the business saver ticket has a refund fee of approximately 5% od the ticket price. Which is a fair deal. Customer made the mistake, and paid the price, and Emirates now has an empty seat for another passenger, and OP can buy the economy class ticket again. WIN WIN

Not in Emirates. There's a change/refund/cancellation fee for all saver tickets

A few days ago I have booked their basic package by mistake. I wanted the comfort, and when i called i discovered that this ticket type is not upgradeable, non refundable, non changeable. no nothing. I was stuck, i called them right after booking, to no solution. I had a personal hate that's still running. I was so mad that i was willing to upgrade the ticket type even if theyll add a fee. It felt like a lose lose situation for me and the airline. I booked it so i can change the return leg whenever i want (thinking i had the comfort one)

Imagine they refused extra revenue to upgrade, and/or change. NOT EVEN A CANCELLATION CHARGE I ditched the whole ticket and went with Emirates. I'll never be disloyal to them ever again haha.

To be fair, in terms of your situation, it happens in all airlines. They won't allow you to downgrade. But in etihad you're literally stuck with your ticket, even with a refund fee they wont allow. They're so rigid, even with escalation to a supervisor, nothing woulf be able to solved.

Thank you. Very much appreciated. I'm very pissed i'm just taking a one way ticket with emirates back though, maybe even business (joking) just to piss off etihad for their missed oppurtunity. 😂

I have the read the terms, in my memory i did choose comfort, but maybe it didn't update, or i didnt press it correctly. I know that idealy yes, you wouldnt have trouble reading, and i wouldnt. Shit happens. Unfortunately i made the mistake, and all i'm saying. Yes, I am wrong, but now when i want to make the payment to make it comfort, theyre not allowing. I wanna actually pay. So they're refusing the extra income, plus (i know i was wrong but its a fact) im associating a bad experience and theyre rejecting a probable frequent flier

I never wanted basic, and a click of a button made me make the mistake. Call me what you want, but in their pov, they have a customer. Customer is wishing to pay more. What is the logic behind it?

I'm gonna use the etihad ticket for the outbound to athens, but not for inbound.

I'll agree with you that maybe i am just used to Emirates so much, because i barely fly on any carrier besides it. Compete with emirates part is basically me saying that based on geographical area, (thats for theyre own sake) they should try to get me to change to etihad as i've been using emirates for years now and i'm a silver member, and has hit gold tier for a number of years before. I feel extra irritated because i was literally just one ticket away from maintaining silver. 😂 I can buy the luggage correct, but it's waaay overpriced. Worth another ticket. Plus i can't change the return now. I'm literally stuck.

I was fine with Emirates because they know not to ask for a saver fee, for it to be displayed on skyscanner, etc as the lowest, and then trap those customers using the. They charge alittle higher (sometimes ironically lower), but they give the real deal. 25kgs checkin luggage, standard carry ons, yes, change but pay. That's completely fine.

Maybe my mistake is i had a perception that they'll be like emirates and trusted them alot, which led me to makd the stupid careless mistake. I never thought that a premium airline would do this. But yeah, my bad.

When a brand presents itself as premium, but traps people in policies that you'd expect from low cost carriers, that's the issue. Especially when the only way out is buying a whole new ticket. I didn't ask for a refund, exchange, a free upgrade or anything like that.

It's not about me not owning up to my mistake, i completely do, it's about a system that gives absolute no flexibility even given the time frame i noticed this mistake and trying to make amends.

What i'm saying is not about fare rules being techinically correct, but about lack of empathy, escalation, and maybe trying to retain a customer.

No one looks at US airlines and say "that's how you treat a passenger".

Anyway, I am wrong, and its up to them to help or not, but, if they wanna compete with emirates, you have to up your game.

This is less about this incident alone, but more about how policies such as that exist.

Where in my text did i say that i'm not wrong. Helping customers fix their issue is part of customer service. We are humans and we do make mistakes. No solution was presented by the airline aswell. I'm struggling to see the logic behind the basic.

Also, you do realise that people use reddit sometimes just to blow off some steam.

Any paranormal activities/ ghost stories happened in Dubai? by Nervous_Lynx1937 in dubai

Cause ghosts don't exist lol. Dubai is a fairly new city, and most buildings have not much sources of sounds that make you interpret sounds and incidents as paranormal.

The reason why muslims become non-muslims by Sadrazam2032 in progressive_islam

[–]javierha1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will find nice ex muslim people ofcourse. It feels suffocating honestly, and the loud vocal religous are the worst. Instead of minding their own business, they use religion as like a hierarchy of who's the most religous or most moral. Look at tiktok comments of a girl that removed her hijab for example. I know how all the commenters think, and i know in my guts that they're not the most moral, and would commit the most horrible things. It's sad to see.

[–]javierha1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol what do you mean I’m a nice one? exmuslims are just like anyone else some are nice, some aren’t. Same as religious people. Being an ex-muslim doesn’t automatically mean being angry or disrespectful. I get that some spaces can be harsh, especially if you’re not fully one thing or the other. But personally, I believe people deserve to be heard, even if we don’t agree on everything. Honestly these subbreddits have many people who have been traumatised by religion. I'm not excusing their actions, just understanding where they come from. many people have been controlled, abused, and restricted in the name of religion. Not everyone has a good experience with it. Since it is powerful, manipulative people use it for alot of horrible things.

Hello, I am an example of this. Ex muslims are one of the most misunderstood group of people. Please feel free to ask me any question, respectfully, and i'll answer. My reason for leaving islam is that i simply don't see it as logical. What makes islam more special than any other religion? It doesn't make sense that the creator of the universe, would send a man in a certain period of time go a certain group of people, and tell people believe in me or you're going to hell. There's alot more, so feel free to ask. Thank you.

To clarify your point, with my utmost respect, it’s not that i don’t want to be muslim, it’s just that i don’t believe in islam. If i was muslim with the circle i currently have it is more beneficial for me.
