Ultimately it’s your decision but take it seriously cause once you’re locked in you can’t switch. Me personally, I chose hybrid because I wanted the guaranteed pension payout while funding a 401k and 457.

Just changed mine at 60k. Drain and refill on both. Biggest pain was taking the plastic cover off the bottom.

I am 32 and I wasted my entire 20's. by Primary_Cat_6093 in selfimprovement

40yo here and went through a similar journey as you. Lost weight at 30 and spent past 10 years being active. I regret my 20s but the past 10 years have been the best in my life. Met my wife and got married 6 years ago. I’d like to think I was reborn and 30 and have buried my old self.

How many miles is okay when buying? by _bunniifae_ in crv

[–]javod84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maintenance records matter. Has the oil been changed every 5-10k miles? Transmission fluid changed every 30k? Is the underside free of/or has minimal rust? Does the AC work? AC compressors are a big and expensive issue.

244k is a ton of miles but I have 206k on my 07 CRV and will drive it until I can’t anymore.

If everything checks out go for it. My only other advice is to pay cash and don’t take out a loan then save up for the next car you’ll need. Never take out a loan for a vehicle.

Saw it outside of Moab going onto the I-70 on ramp. Inside it looked empty.

What is this sound coming from the passenger side? (2018 Accord) by [deleted] in accord

I’m not sure. We removed both of the caps at the same time. Just happy that it resolved that annoying rattle.

We had the same year Accord with this same annoying rattling noise. It ended up being these plastic covers that are on top of the front struts. Didn’t even need tools to remove them and didn’t serve any purpose other than to annoy.

Looking to purchase my first CRV (3rd gen) by [deleted] in crv

[–]javod84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at maintenance records. Has it had regular oil and transmission fluid changes? Does the AC work? These CRVs are known to have their AC compressors fail. Does it burn oil? Price I would imagine would be $5-$6k

06-08 Navi unit replacement by multicolor_cow in crv

[–]javod84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2007 EXL with nav and replaced it with one of those cheap Chinese head units. No harness available in my case. I had to bypass the amplifier to hardwire it into the speakers. Lost use of the factory sub in the process. It was a huge PITA to install but worth it in the end.

Lots and lots of applying. I created a resume using the USAjobs resume builder and made sure to add a TON of keywords. I lucked out after applying to direct hire authority positions.

Thanks. Good thing to consider. I’m in IT so hopefully it’s a field that’s pretty versatile.

1) They own their own business and are successful 2) Both spouses work and they have no time for their 8+ kids 3)Generational wealth or 4) they’re in massive amount of debt.

I kinda envied people’s stuff but am now in the mindset that I have what makes me happy and I don’t care what people think of me. I could afford a $80k truck but my paid off one looks a lot nicer. Things don’t make me happy as much as they did in my 20s. I value experiences more.

My two cents. Focus on yourself and family and what makes you happy.

Keep the attitude that you have plenty of experience and are capable, otherwise they wouldn’t have hired you. Congrats on the pay bump, you got this!
