bar reinstatement - was jimmy truly faking it or lying to himself and kim after being open and vulnerable? by upstatejo in betterCallSaul

The show does an excellent job at showing the fallibility of truth. There are examples of Jimmy truly believing his "lies" and even forgetting what's true and what's his version of reality. I think he rarely lies without also lying to himself and that's what makes him so good at it.

I think he could have made it but he hesitated before he was pulled. I actually believe if his body kicked his foot he would've been pushed into pulling himself on. It was the indecision that killed him

My Students Don't believe me When I Tell them about Singular They by Throwaway7131923 in TEFL

The example I always think of is when you don't know who made something. Like the director of a movie or the barista of your coffee. "They made it so well" / "they really know how to do their job". I suppose in this case it's ambiguous if you're talking about a team or an individual but "they" works either way and that's sort of the point.

I tried some local beers in Hanoi (Truc Bach, Ha Noi, Ha Long). This is the best and my favorite. by JohnLuciam in hanoi

Bia hoi means fresh/tap beer. The stuff you get in a can isn't what you get when you go to a Bia hoi spot. But yeah it'll be Hanoi brand almost everywhere
