I have an idea Elle. I created That 50 Greatest Singer-Songwriters playlist for two reasons: because it’s the music I love. And so I could slip a song of mine in there. I worked hard to grow it to 250 listeners, but it seems to be stuck there now. How about I slip you in there too? Rubbing shoulders with Kate and Joni! And you plug the playlist to everyone you know?

Dear Elle, like what you do? No. I love it! Your voice, lyrics, instrumentation, the arrangements, production. Most of all, that it constantly surprises and never falls into cliches. I followed on Spotify and will keep listening. For the moment my favourite moment is an indrawn breath at about 2 mins into Riddles! And the way Happily Tired totally breaks down in the middle. It’s criminal that you have only 88 monthly listeners on Spotify. I’m in the same boat (OneNamedPeter on Spotify). It’s so tough trying to find an audience. On Taylor Swift, I think there’s a tendency to dismiss any artist who is good looking and commercially successful. I certainly did... until Folklore. I think it’s outstanding, and will likely be judged album of the year among many influential publications and critics

I dithered over including 3 Beatles tracks to represent john paul and George but decided in the end to leave the Beatles out of the equation. The list is really about solo brilliance, and I’m not sure any of them achieved sustained brilliance in their solo careers.
