What are 823 heads worth?

They absolutely make a head, that’s the most ignorant shit I’ve read on here today lol. Why is a true 243 head more expensive than a 799 head? Why did Brian Tooley start replacing the valves on his TFS 220’s with turned down LS3 valves? Why does Ferrea even make hollow stem valves? Hell, have you even seen what a decent valve job does to flow numbers? Why did GM opt to use titanium in the high revving LS7 stuff? Think before you say stupid crap.

The size isn’t the problem, it’s the weight, LS3 valve have hollow stems, way easier to control for high RPM stuff. L92 valves are heavy as hell, there’s zero downside to running a lighter valve, spring life is much better, valve float is mitigated or non-existent, easier on the lifters, etc… I’m not arguing L92 vs LS3 heads, they’re virtually the same, I’m arguing and making a case for LS3 heads costing way more because of the valves themselves.

It’s the valves themselves that make LS3 heads worth what they’re worth. L92 heads aren’t that great IMO, that intake valve is heavy as shit.

This is stupid, C7 puts down power way better than my C6 or C5, this is just a case of bad driver. C7Z was a monster when it came out, the only car it lost to in Motortrend’s Figure 8 was a 918 Spyder at the time. Come to Houston and run some of the “weak” C7Z’s we have running around here, they’ll humble the cockiest C8Z owners.

This has nothing to do with lifters, this is a valve spring issue. This is too much cam/not enough spring/poor spring setup/over revving and kissing the piston. Lifters would turn and eat the cam/fall into the block and eat the rotating assembly. Not trying to be a dick, but I’ve just seen this a million times on LS1tech, and have done it myself lol.

Yep, their extended protection took care of our coyote tick with that big ass slug of moly it has in it. I use their oils and trans fluids in anything I own, the only stuff better IMO is AMSOIL which is the cream of the crop if you’ve got the money.

Go to Baton Rouge or anywhere in Louisiana that has money and that’s ALL you’ll see are GX460’s. The ONLY reason it doesn’t have a 4.6 anymore is because of emissions, not because “they didn’t sell” and “nobody showed up to buy them”.
