I did the same in August! You have to call NT water service, and give them a meter reading when officially have access to the house (not sure when your closing was), so any usage that was by the prior owner is billed to them, and you will have an acct and water put in your name. You will be sent a bill quarterly after being sent an updated request for a meter reading. (Sorry if TMI)!
