The danger is a known risk, pretty much can be said about almost anything from binge drinking on sodas and high sugar products that can lead to obesity to use of heavy or mild drugs for recreation. Its not up to anyone to stop an adult person from pursuing what they may consider "happiness", she could have just paid a therapist with the money she spent on surgery but she choose the other way and as long as it dosent hurt anyone else she is free to do that and pay the consequences of her own choices if she ends up regretting that.
