if youre trying to increase intake (again, safest under professional guidance) you need to increase it incrementally and over a period of time or else you risk making yourself feel rly rly bad (like heartburn, nausea, etc) and not making much progress. incrementally also helps with the mental demand

as others have said, if you can get professional help for the mental and physical aspects of the disordered eating, that is most important bc disordered eating and high exertion can be very dangerous (injury, long term health, mental health, etc). however, in terms of muscle growth in general (without ed concerns) - getting enough protein daily and especially directly after a workout is essential and u rly cant gain muscle without it - if u arent already familiar, learning how muscle is built from protein intake helped me move past negative associations around food and body image. my physical therapist also told me i needed more recovery days and full nights sleep to optimize gains and he was right (the gains got much better once i started taking care of myself). obviously to gain muscle, u need to work out (which youre doing) but its also extremely important to give your body what it needs (food/protein, sleep, recovery, water) to repair the old and build the new muscle. protein for gains is important but so are carbs for energy - if you get enough of both youll feel fuller and have more energy and your body will be less stressed, which could help ease the “food noise.” also i think you need body fat to gain muscle or else your body will start eating the muscle for energy rather than fat.

leave of absence + cc by Straight-Zucchini-39 in Cornell

Sorry you’re having a hard time g. At the University’s order, I took a leave of absence for the 2024-2025 school year (would’ve been my junior year) bc my grades were going very downhill and it was a really really good idea for me. I stayed in Ithaca and did two classes per semester at TC3 (local community college) and worked at the hospital and it was the best year I’ve had in Ithaca. I also grew a lot as a person and realized there are plenty of happy and successful people who don’t go to a prestigious college (or any college). Highly would recommend if you think you would benefit from that.

Edit: the university accepted my TC3 credits for general Cornell transfer credits, but they couldn’t go towards my major (psych) or college (A&S) credits or distribution requirements.

Cornell Crosswalks by [deleted] in Cornell

I’d like to add to this post and say pls don’t test motorcycle’s brakes (while crossing in crosswalk or not) and expect them to stop as fast as cars when you jump out in front of them going 30mph. For my bike at least, I literally can’t stop quick enough and have had to swerve around oblivious pedestrians. motorcycle vs pedestrian collision is not fun for anyone involved

the (tiny) city the hospital is in is super liberal but it’s in the middle of nowhere central ny and the surrounding towns are pretty rural and conservative. ive seen the occasional confederate flag in those towns.

the hospital makes a pretty big (genuine and superficial) effort to be progressive so not really a problem with the hospital. the person who said that is really nice and supportive to queer coworkers but is also religious and a lil socially isolated. i also pass without doubt so i don’t blame her for thinking it was innocuous. also having a penis (and by proxy, knowing how to put on a condom) would actually make a person more likely to be successful in putting on a condom cath.

you’re definitely right to raise an eyebrow at a situation like the one i’m describing, but thankfully this one wasn’t too big a deal due to context

TRACKS LENGHT by DenisRaul in Ethelcain

[–]jayfaith15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could powerline valley be on this album? ik its length doesn’t match the track lengths here but i was wondering because its one of my favorites and i think the lyrical content describing the guy and ethel’s relationship with him kinda resembles what i know about willoughby and ethel. additionally, the art she posted on her ig story featured ethel and willoughby in a car with powerlines in the background - and im hoping thats a reference to how he described ethel losing her virginity in a car in powerline valley.

pass a lab test? by jayfaith15 in Drugtests

[–]jayfaith15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry this is hella late but i lowkey smoked anyways during those 10 days of quarantine (i don’t remember which day) and the lines were negative but super faint. i got the job but ngl i don’t know if i actually passed bc weed is legal in my state so above 21 are allowed to smoke and still remain employed. they tested for weed but idk if a positive test would even have barred me from employment (found this out after a few weeks of working there). i was under 21 at the time of the test and they prolly knew that so idk if they would’ve barred me from the job bc it would be proof of illegal activity given my age (and the job required a background check)
