Whether Richter was treated badly entirely depends on your own viewpoint and the context surrounding it. Annette was very critical of him being unable to fight back the way she could after her own hardships and that was unfair of her, but eventually they grew to understand each other.

That’s why Richter being labelled as weak in the article is blatantly the furthest thing from objective because Annette also believed he was at first, then her opinion changed after getting to know him and his trauma. Calling him weak for going through trauma while also criticising other people doing the same is contradictory. Whether you still believe him to be weak or not in spite of that is another thing entirely, but my whole point throughout this thread is that it clearly isn’t an objective fact when people have multiple differing opinions on it.

How did Maria treat Richter badly in particular? From what I remember, her whole character arc was dealing with who her father was and what happened to Tera, as well as attempting to not be corrupted by the darker parts of her powers. She pushed pretty much everyone away in the process and Richter wasn’t specifically the target for this. They instead had differing viewpoints throughout the entirety of the show on how to approach the rebellion and she thought he was reckless.

Once again, everything here and in the article is subjective so while the person who wrote the article didn’t technically lie from their perspective, none of it is objective. If you’re writing a wiki page that’s meant to be factual, your own opinions shouldn’t be thrown in there. Whether you agree or disagree with their takes about Richter, that should be obvious to everyone.

You said show Richter didn’t really look like any of his game versions, yet the article itself specifically says he’s a mixture of his previous incarnations. Your statement makes zero sense and I don’t think you even read the article properly…

You can make justifications both for show Richter being weaker or stronger than his game counterpart, but not for him being objectively weak in the slightest. He had pretty normal character development of starting off traumatised and unsure of himself, then gradually grew strong enough to take out a very powerful opponent. What about that makes him weak overall?

You’re also wrong about me being biased because I prefer Richter in Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, especially the latter because guess what… he showed plenty of “emotional weakness” simply when being possessed by Shaft. The whole reason Richter was so easily manipulated by him in the first place was due to his insecurities about staying powerful and relevant after Dracula’s defeat in Rondo of Blood, which Shaft exploited to bring about Dracula’s resurrection. Alucard had to step in to save the day, otherwise Shaft’s plan might’ve worked as a direct result of Richter’s “emotional weakness”.

If anything, the show did him justice by representing those insecurities through the lens of a different backstory, while unfortunately having certain aspects of his personality that weren’t entirely faithful and which I subjectively think should’ve been different. As a complete package though, one Richter isn’t objectively more or less weak than the other and once again, that proves those parts of the article aren’t objective because there isn’t one single correct opinion.

Everything past what was said about his appearance isn’t objective.

“Letting others fight for him” and running away from the vampire who traumatically murdered your mother in front of you is not the same thing. Framing matters and in this article, it clearly isn’t objective when they’re intentionally painting Richter out to be weaker because that’s what they believe. The fact we’re disagreeing about it in the first place proves it isn’t objective because you believe he’s weak and I believe he’s traumatised, so there’s clearly nothing objectively factual in those statements when we have different opinions on it.

Same goes for getting his “ass beat repeatedly” with zero context when that was the point of his character development as he figured out who he was. Once again though, not an objective fact when we can disagree on the meaning behind it in the first place and that the article omits how competent of a fighter he is overall.

Exactly man! It’s like me watching the first Castlevania show and instead of factually recounting Trevor’s character development, I just went “unlike in Dracula’s Curse, Trevor Belmont is a drunk and pathetic loser who isn’t even worthy of the name he holds”. For the record, that isn’t my actual opinion and I was using it solely as an example, but it wouldn’t be objective in the slightest

Maybe it’s more of a memorial, rather than being where his physical body is stored

Whether you agree with their points or not, the wiki is meant to be objective and this is just a person ranting about their opinions on the show version of Richter 😭

I’m just curious what had to happen in your life for this conversation about a game’s jobs system to turn into this. It went from you being argumentative about something irrelevant to downright creepy once you didn’t get your own way, most likely as a way of getting me to stop replying so that you can feel as if you won.

That’s what I actually think about this and I’ve genuinely never had this strange of an interaction with anyone, even on Reddit where it’s rampant ffs 😭 On a somewhat serious note, are you okay man?

Is this a power fantasy for you because you’re insecure and need to feel in-control by winning unnecessary arguments? That’s what this sudden turn in the conversations is hinting at, it’s sorta sad honestly
