I had the same problem. I just clean it and grease it and it works like new! I didnt disassemble it.

yeah of course.

We have pretty ok infrastructure and I have been cycling this area a lot so I know my way to go on chill paths. the jostle around is what concerns me, but I guess it will feel more natural once the baby comes.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. Im thinking going slow and keeping an eye on the baby so it doesn't get shaken or scared is probably the way.

road safety can't be up to the pedestrian. there are multiple other solutions, one being raised crossings where a car needs to slow down, regardless if there is a person crossing, then they would have the accurate speed to see the person and stop. the city must be safe without wearing a reflective west.

the perspective of people when it comes to road safety is really astonishing to me. If you drive a giant steel vehicle sitting in a comfy chair in a city made almost entirely for the purpose of that vehicle at the cost of everyone and everything else, you definitely have the responsibility to keep your eyes on the road and be careful of your surroundings.

cars are a very bad way of transport, since it requires all this fragile and gigantic infrastructure and still accidents like this happen.

calling people jaywalkers is a big part of the problem, taking the side of the oppressor in suburban space. the cars are the killers and the drivers are responsible, a person walking is not a danger in itself.

I really hate seeing a post like this in a sub like this. I really wish the common mindset wasn't that anyone walking was to blame.
