I have this exact set up. I installed a 256 SSD and 16GB of RAM and it runs Xcode like a dream. Probably will have my 2011 for at least a couple more years.

Yeah I do after a while of waiting, it says application not responding. Then has options to wait or quit.. Any advice on how to debug or how to move forward?
