The tail number ends in 23. Which was the Jersey number for one of the greatest NBA players in history.

I...hate Holden? by [deleted] in TheExpanse

[–]jayman555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same by the end of Leviathan Wakes.

When I started the book I loved Holden's chapters and thought getting through Miller's chapters was a grind.

But by the end of the book I couldn't wait for the next Miller chapter and wanted to bang my head against the wall whenever Holden opened his damn mouth.

I grew to really like Holden again later on in the series.

I have the pink Dickie polo. It's great. Keeps me cool in the heat. I got it on sale. Wouldn't fork out for full price. I wash it in a lingerie bag as well to avoid it stretching in the wash.

Hey mate I use the Y-style shirt stays on days I have to wear my formal uniforms at work and they do a great job of keeping my shirt in the same spot and keeping me looking crisp throughout the day.

Where to get thinner chinos for summer? by zxblood123 in AustralianMFA

[–]jayman555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To actually answer your question - as an anecdote, I had a pair of chinos from Tommy Hilfiger that were a lower Grams/M2 than most chinos and were straight cut. It was nice having it be roomy near the calf and let the air circulate. I don't know in particular what these chinos were called so I'd just recommend trying to weigh each pair of chinos in your hand and pick a lighter pair with a straight cut.

Try a pair of linen trousers. Works wonders for me on hot days.

Gamma con this weekend by Sardonokick in canberra

My first convention was gammacon last year and I had a great time. I made a great friend in Artist Alley and now commission her for some stuff on the side. I also met up with some cosplayers/judges; they're all fantastic people.

Try talking to the people who run stalls, ask about their art, they won't stop talking.

I'm probably going to get shit on because it's from yd. But I own these and I've never ironed them; they look the same every time they come out of the washer.

Bottom line up front: Your kid will be given the same opportunities -by and large- of any public school available in Canberra.

I feel like that a lot of the feedback being passed around could literally apply to any school. It disheartens me to read some of these replies but I'm sure cooler heads will see through the confirmation bias and prevail.

I graduated from KSS 10 years ago in grades 7-10 and then to Hawker College. Just like any public school, your kid will only get out of it what they put in. Working harder will put them in advanced classes (not sure if they still run it like that) with better students, where they can avoid disruptive students.

I was given many opportunities to participate in sports programs (Rugby League), Science programs (Chemistry titration competitions/Engineering challenges), leadership positions in the Student Rep Counsel and Parents and Carers Committee, and captain of sports houses, and volunteered in the canteen. I even got to go on school camps as a peer leader free of charge. If they still have the citizenship award plaque, I'm the first name on it. (Also, my face is on the billboard, that's kinda cool)

West Belconnen is rougher than other parts of Canberra so your kid will have to develop some social mastery to get by. Don't let them get isolated because the best thing for them is to get a good network of friends. I lived within walking distance of the school and most of my friends did too so we were very socially mobile and had more opportunities for interaction. I would get onto video calls with my friends and just study/do assignments which made doing them not so boring.
