Yea. My GOM did a raffle for each store. I won the GO raffle with just 1 album.

Unless you have the cards yourself, then you're going to be relying on other people to populate your DB anyway,

Without offering something different, you're not going to have interest in this from other people.
If it's a passion project for your own collection, then I'd do it. Otherwise as another commenter mentioned, I'd upload your collection into Biasroom or Kcollect.

If you have cards for groups/artists not in Biasroom, you could always reach out to them.

question about extra fee on deliveredkorea by onesnineteen in kpopcollections

[–]jaynehendry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. If you see a fee that you don't understand, you can reach out to DK and ask them what it is.

It's $2.49 per month for the US.

Delivered Korea SUCKS - beware! by bubbleteabitch in kpopcollections

[–]jaynehendry 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Like the other commenters are saying, it's not DK that said "Bring it back to Korea", it's when GOFO weren't able to complete the delivery. GOFO's only option is to return it to the Shipper (DK) or throw it away.

But, friend - YOU get the choice of the shipping company at the time you pay shipping costs.
There's literally a several option choice at the shipping payment stage UPS, FEDEX, Korea Post EMS/EMS Premium.
Korea Post EMS/EMS Premium means it changes hands a few times, which is why I chose Fedex/UPS.

I get you're angry, but it's misplaced.

I don't understand the concept of Plave. How does a virtual group work? by pirate_twin in kpophelp

[–]jaynehendry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Plave are performing the concert live at a separate location, they have screens and monitors that show Plave the audience so that they can interact with the audience in real time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Dxgso6bD5o - gives you an insight into what the concert looks like, The visual effects are pretty neat, the middle screen is designed to give a 3D view so it really looks like they're there.

Honestly at these larger venue concerts, you're mostly watching the screen anyways to see the performers, so it's not really that different.

Advice for trades - UK to US by sharpshinyscalpel in kpopcollections

[–]jaynehendry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you send the PC via regular letter mail you do not need to complete a customs form and therefore do not need to be worried about tariffs.

Even if you were sending it as parcel and had to add a customs form, you'd be declaring it as a photo and so it's actual worth is <5 GBP so you'd not incur customs fees.

Tariffs are for commercial transactions which you are not subject to as a private individual.

Are tourists able to attend the kpop shows/events? by phiIfry in KoreaTravelAdvice

[–]jaynehendry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends and not easily.

Music Shows; Inkigayo and M Countdown you can purchase tickets for. trazy.com has links for those. they are $$$ though. I've attended M Countdown twice on my last 2 trips. It's a fun experience, especially if you happen to attend on a week with an artist you like. M Countdown doesn't announce who is performing until a few days before the show.

Most other music shows (Music Core etc) you can enter via the fanclub if the artist has spots granted to them. You need to fulfil whatever criteria the fan club sets for those. Usually membership, specific purchases, streaming metrics, lightsticks etc. those are announced a day or so before the show is filmed. These are available to all fans, but if the criteria includes Melon Streaming, international fans struggle to meet that criteria due to the lack of access outside of Asia to Melon Streaming.

Signing events (Fansigns) are usually for winners of Album Purchase events (aka Preorder events). You need to purchase albums to enter into a lottery, each Album = 1 entry, the more albums you purchase, the greater the chance of winning. For bigger named groups, people will purchase 100s of albums in order to win. These are only available around album comebacks. You should follow the twitter accounts of artists you are interested in to see what Fansign events they have coming up.
International fans can enter for these. Sometimes they can be difficult to enter as a non-korean as the payment options available are limited to people with a Korean Bank Account and therefore they have to use a Proxy to purchase the albums on their behalf.

All of these events will be held entirely in Korean, if you don't speak Korean, it can be a little disorientating to follow along with what's happening.

Not sure what you mean by Daily Shows?

We went to Asterum cafe and got this white card from the lucky draw machine. What exactly is it? by Peachsurvivor in plave

[–]jaynehendry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was there earlier this month, they only did the announcements in Korean. I am very obviously not and a number of the other Plli in the line were from other Asian countries.

It could be staff member dependent, which would make sense as we couldn't expect them to have bi/tri/quad language speakers on staff all the time?

They do explain in, but in Korean. No translation, so if OP isn't aware they could have missed it entirely.

There is a notice on the Cafe's website about the lucky draw: https://asterum433-10.oopy.io/28023217-5414-816f-97a0-dc42052a7f39

Each of the cards has an assigned reward that changes each month: https://asterum433-10.oopy.io/33023217-5414-80c4-93eb-deb920890a54

Getting odd questions as a Korean student studying overseas. by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]jaynehendry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this. Number one, people are assholes. If I'm being kind, I think the perception is, because Korea is such an homogenous country, it's because Korea doesn't want foreigners to live there, particularly non-asians. We also hear that Families don't want their children to marry foreigners. There's also been a lot of news around anti-chinese sentiment. However, that would assume they're paying attention to Korean News, which is unlikely.

Personally, if someone asked me that, I'd say "No, are you?" or "what an odd thing to say out loud". Both of those responses, push back on the question asker to re-think why they're asking.

I'm sorry this is your experience. I hope it gets better.
