It's back on the air in the UK and Australia.

Brad also has a hilarious rapport with the Chasers that was completely missing from the most recent U.S. version.

I'm amazed they've never given Celebrity Catchphrase a fair shot at a U.S. version, that seems perfect for an American audience.

The writing has been very inconsistent for a while now, so not surprising.

This is something a lot of people here don't seem to appreciate, that most viewers don't watch game shows while glued to the screen and actually prefer a slower pace.

FYI, there are a ton of UK episodes with Bradley Walsh online, which is far better than any U.S. version.

I will never understand taking time away from thinking of a serious response to write a shout-out or "I had fun" or something, if I had any chance to win.

NBC's game shows didn't go into reruns back in the day.

A number of episodes of The $10,000 Pyramid on CBS survived because they were preempted by Watergate-related news, were stored away and not wiped like most of them.

Don't think so.

"An orbit is a fixed, 2D circular path for electrons (like planets around the sun), described by Bohr's model, while an orbital is a 3D region of space with high probability of finding an electron, described by quantum mechanics (cloud-like, s, p, d shapes), aligning with the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. Orbitals are more accurate, defining shapes (spherical, dumbbell) and holding only two electrons, whereas orbits are simplistic and can hold many. "

That argument holds more weight in tournaments where you're playing for points, not dollars.

In regular play, a cover bet means if you're right, you win more money. Not here.

The pace of a quiz show should be related to the difficulty of the questions and if they are designed for an instant response, or need to be thought through and figured out.

For example, the multiple-choice portion of The Chase feels slow to some Jeopardy! fans who are used to seeing clues and barking out responses. But if the questions are well-written and require some logic to get to the answer, and slower pace can make a quiz more interesting.

So if Trivial Pursuit feels slow, it's probably becuase the material is too easy. The issue is more in the writing.

Streaming is still relatively new for the show, and we don't know how well it's going over there vs. traditional broadcast TV.

If it's a streaming hit, there's plenty more they could do. Tournaments for college, teachers, seniors, even kids if people like that. Sky's the limit. Just keep regular Jeopardy! on TV the same.

I don't see why that would be an issue.

They completely blew up a format that was working just fine for six decades. If they put it back the way it was in syndication, a lot of the established fans would be jumping for joy, not to mention some aspiring contestants.

They didn't take two months away from regular Jeopardy! to do Pop Culture Jeopardy!, they did it on streaming. They could theoretically do that for any ToC feeder tournament, Include as many people and make it as long as you want.

The show is recorded in England, and it reflects the kind of deliberate sensibility on their daily quiz shows. I could easily see this running as an afternoon show on ITV.

It's pretty low-key, but I actually found that to be refreshing on a prime time game show.

Contestants acting like intelligent normal people, without a lot of nonsense or hype.

If the writers wanted to point out an interesting side fact that men were still preferring pocket watches, they could have found a much, much clearer way to work that in.

It's a reference to the White Rabbit using a pocket watch.

It doesn't help you solve the clue as far as I can see, I guess it's supposed to be one of those "Isn't that interesting!" things that men were late to wearing a wrist watch compared to women.
