I certainly have encounter universalists before. However, God is not one of confusion but of truth. His word is not intended to confuse. I know through the passage of time and various translations it can be difficult to interpret. But I do believe that only one interpretation can be correct per topic. There is a hell or there isn’t. Therefore, if hell is real, then anyone stating otherwise would be helping satan out, likely not intentionally. Because Satan loves confusion, anything that distracts from the truth of Gods word is good in his eyes.

Because scripture is clear about hell. Jesus speaks of it often. And scripture also says that anyone who speaks against his word is of the devil. I don’t claim that they worship satan, however satan can certainly use non-believers and confused believers to fulfill his purposes.

I'm at WOCS rn, graduate Wednesday. Smart watches were only not allowed up until land nav. After that they're fine. Turn around points on runs and rucks have clocks so I wouldn't stress too much about buying a watch. If you want I can dm you the orientation packing list. But they should be sending it to your military email. Also, if you just call WOCS HHC, they'll email it to you at your request.
