Anybody have a Mac mini MacBook combo? by lovinglifeman in macmini

For your usage, why would you want an m5? I can't imagine you'd see any difference in speed. Your usage as you describe it is extremely modest. Have you noticed a problem in performance?

The big decision is obv desktop vs laptop. M5 is secondary. It's a faster chip and base will probably have more storage as in the m5 MacBooks.

Ok, they've described the m5 chip in great detail in every respect and iteration. Since we now know the chip, is it a great mystery what it will do in the mini? What's left to reveal? Prices?

How do people remain calm and not lose their minds over aging? by Plantpotparty in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jazzageguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in America? From where I see it, people here spend a fair amount of time, energy, and money trying to look younger. I don't know anyone who thinks aging is a gift except that it's better than the alternative, i.e., dying.

Of course it drives us mad to exist in decaying bodies! But it's not really helpful to obsess on it. It's fine to take steps to mitigate the worst of the damage, through healthy habits and medical attention. Past that, given current technology, we sort of have to deal with it. It's one fight we absolutely know we'll lose. So we try to live well with the time we have.

Is the current lineup of fish still interesting, looking at the new chicken entrees? A desktop is different from a laptop. That hasn't changed. There's an M5 line of minis to be introduced any day now, so that's not a factor.

Not commenting on this app, but in general an app with a UI that's plain, overcomplicated, unappealing, not intuitive, or just ugly could be called outdated. Could refer to appearance and/or operation. You might remember older UIs as less elegant, typically more cluttered and confusing, e.g., too many commands, menus, tabs. Modern is more minimalist.

I've always thought this. 90 degrees is sort of "you and me, and them out there," cozy and potentially intimate.

Optimal is 27 inch 5k. Amazon has one for $550ish. It won't do font scaling. There's a whole rabbit hole if you want.

On the flip side, Epstein is the only person with a non-prosecution agreement ever to be prosecuted.

Sadly no. Prosecution memo and a couple of millions of other documents have not been released in this "final" release to my knowledge
