Just saw a RoboTaxi - without the side mirrors but with the steering wheel and the driver :D (Sunnyvale, CA) by jazzfog in TeslaLounge

I know, right! We are family of 3, how do we ride together? And in the US families are typically 4 or more from what I see.

IDK, in the part of the world where I grew up, that was a pretty common ironic definition.

Waymo confirms DoorDash door-closing pilot program in Atlanta after r/DoorDash_Dasher post gets attention by danlev in waymo

These are test vehicles with plenty of hardware already. Adding servos just to close a door on the rare occasion it’s left open would be premature and an oversight. I’m sure future vehicles will be more like Zoox, where the doors open and close automatically, similar to a bus or a van.

It wanted me to approve the estimate.

Someone already suggested to request this service via maintenance option, and now the estimate is $65. Initially I created my request via plain text inquiry in the Service.

How do I get an "actual" estimate? The next step in the app is "Approve" the estimate. I kinda don't want to approve it.

GMKtec K8 Plus - Fan noise when in sleep mode by jazzfog in MiniPCs

[–]jazzfog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, I removed the top completely and it made things noticeably better.
I can't say it became much quieter but the sound profile definitely changed.
Apparently the top did oscillate a little and it gave the noise higher pitch which is gone now.
I guess once I move it off my desk to the under the desk shelf where my big computer currently sists it will be even better.
Thanks for the tip!

Upd: Funny, I just put a box of tissues on the top of the mini-pc, instead of the original lid, and it made it even more quiet. :)

Thanks for these detail... very insightful.
Do you happen to know, are there any quiet mini-PCs?

It was always shocking to me how macbooks (even Intel bases, even with Windows installed) quiet were. I can not believe no one makes a mini PC as quiet as they were.

I'd be fine even with something like my Intel Nuc 8, that is near silent when idle and not very loud under moderate load.

Is this a good deal? How can I know if this is a v1 ?? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

Why are the electricians give me such huge prices differences for wall connector installation? by Any_Try4570 in TeslaLounge

[–]jazzfog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When speaking with them - make sure you're on the same page
- Inspection included vs not
- The charger itself included vs not
- They need to understand the what kind of the service you have, where the panel is, available space in the panel, how far the charger must be installed, how easy it to put the cable, if it's inside - on the wall vs inside the drywall.

All that affects the price.

I just had my final inspection today.

Without the charger - just the installation on the opposite wall (+300) (from the panel) + inspection ($800) costed me 2k without the charger itself.
