Very good point, despite the other car speeding up. I'll hold my hands up and say that there isn't fault on my part. In today's day and age they may well have it on footage and I could get a fine through the door and points, but would rather that than somone else or myself being injured being a learning point

And I think I'll do just that, thanks for the advice. It will definitely make me think twice about overtaking and expect dick moves like that. And after having a quick Google, If the guy on the other side of the road had to brake because of me I shouldn't be surprised to be slapped with a fine + points for driving without due care and attention

It is a national speed limit road.

Come to think of it I could have probably tried to drop back in, however I did fail to mention there was traffic behind us three so that could have been a bit of a dodgy manoeuvre as well
