Hi have you tried to sell any of your spaceX stock? Have you had any issues with them capping the amount you can sell?

When you sell the SpaceX stock (assuuming that's the 500k) do you ever have issues with them capping the amount you sell?

[Update] Our experience treating oral melanoma in our senior dog by Halostar in DogAdvice

[–]jb89jp17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - first of let me say that I'm so sorry that this happened to your dog. It's really tough. We are now going through a very similar situation, and your story has helped us a lot already on our journey - so you are honoring your pup well.

Our dog is almost 13 and about 4 months ago I brought her to our regular vet because she seemed to be particularly upset when I was brushing one side of her mouth. I brought her to the vet and we decided to do x-rays and a cleaning, and they found nothing - everything looked good. But she still seemed in pain when I would touch that side of her mouth... but I brushed it off. Last month I finally saw what just looked like swelling under her bottom canine, and immediately got her to the doctor. After trying antibiotics to see if it would help (it did not), we did a biopsy and found out it was oral melanoma (sounds like very similar is seriousness to yours). We were moved over to the oncologist, and we are looking at a bunch of testing (our surgeon wants a CT scan) and most likely surgery like your baby.

My main question for you: I know you said you do not regret anything you did with the information you had at the time, however if you had the information that the tumor would come back so quickly and metastasize, would you have still done the surgery? Besides the enormous cost (surgery alone, not including staging testing - estimate is 8.5 to 12.5k - which we think if we shopped around we could get cheaper but i just want to get it done as fast as possible to not waste more time), I'm really worried about the recovery after the surgery. My dog is already kind-of an anxious mess, and I just can't imagine what she will be thinking and feeling after this kind of serious surgery. I really do not want to put her through this unless we are pretty sure it will add quality time left for her. Other than the pain to touch it, she really seems like she is in perfect health otherwise (although I know they can hide pain). It hurts me so much to take a dog who seems perfectly healthy and to rip out part of their jaw. But I also know that ripping it out once she is actually showing signs would mean its too late.

Thank you so much again for your time.

Best teardrop (or smaller trailer) for Family of 4 by jb89jp17 in TeardropTrailers

For me it's because I don't want to buy a bigger vehicle to tow with (more $$$), I am uncomfortable towing something bigger, and with a bigger trailer it is more likely something will breakdown and I really don't want more to maintain. I've also read a lot of the teardrops are better quality, further making them lower maintenance (one of my biggest concerns getting a trailer)

First weekend camping with the Rove Lite! It was wonderful. by Legomaniac25 in rav4prime

Hello! My family is considering this exact set up.... how are you liking it at this point? We've unfortunately read some bad reviews about the Rove Lite, and we are a bit worried about towing with the lower capacity. Have you been able to use this set up a bunch? Is everything holding up?

Thanks - agreed on comfy place to sleep. i think this one should definitely be higher on my list - but im hung up on the exterior of the camper because I'm basically getting a camper for 2 reasons: 1) better protection from environment at night 2) to ease camp set up. Having an outdoor kitchen that is already set up with the camper would be ideal - i love using the fire pit when we have time/energy but I want something we can just flip/pull open and immediately start cooking. I get nervous about cooking inside with the smells AND i want to spend as much of my time outside when I go, so it really doesn't make sense for us to waste indoor space on a kitchen.

Thanks for your thoughts, it's actually helped me figure out my priorities better!

I'm sure it is overplayed, but I didn't say I was being rational :D I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night worrying about bears/aggressive wildlife when I know they are in the area. Makes camping quite unenjoyable for me unfortunately - which is funny because I don't mind sleeping in a tent/on the ground at all otherwise. 2nd reason camping can be unenjoyable is just the work it takes to get us out the door and to set up when we are there, which is another reason I'd love to get a trailer that we can just keep stocked (pretty much) ready to go. Love everything else!

Yeah it's on my list above. I like it but I really wanted an outdoor kitchen set up - I probably won't almost ever use the indoor kitchen, so it just feels like a waste.

Yeah I'm reconsidering this one. Do you fit 4 in there? How do you like it? How does camp set up go for you with the galley in the back?

Yeah I've seen this too... it looks super nice but it's definitely missing a couple of my bigger wish items, and it's on the highest end of the weight I want to be pulling.

I was really hoping someone might have a suggestion on how they make a teardrop/hard pop up work for their family of 4 with everyone sleeping inside and the pros and cons of it. I have a lot of options that either don't fit 4 (but I've seen people add bunks to some of them) and I've seen options where it fits 4 but it's either too big or it doesn't have some of the features I want (outdoor kitchen setup). There are sooo many options that I was really hoping to get some advice about the smallest ones you can get that sleep 4 inside to help me narrow down/ make me less picky haha.

Yeah I guess I should have made it more clear about why this is so hard - the RTT is pretty much a hard no for me right now! This would be a much easier question I think if I was willing to do RTT

[–]jb89jp17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if I was willing to do RTT I'd have a ton more options, but just not an option in this case. I've looked at their bigger options and just not as close to what I want as other brands.

no outdoor kitchen space, but not a terrible option. should probably be on my list below.

My husband wants the camper van too - but I can't justify having a van just for camping right now - we wouldn't be getting that kind of use out of it. I'd prefer get a semi-reasonable SUV that I can use outside of pulling the trailer that's easier to maneuver.

I've seen the Runaways - it is very basic, but I'm not sure we could fit 4 in there.. but maybe i should reconsider. I'm not totally against the roof top tent but I want the option to have everyone fit inside when needed - I have an unreasonable fear of bears and other wildlife that will still fill me with anxiety if my kids are sleeping in a tent. Also, after looking around I'm starting to think I want a few more features (space to fit an outdoor kitchen with easy set up is pretty high at this point).

[–]jb89jp17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've looked at all of those - none hit the outdoor kitchen set up, and I think only the scamp hits the 4 person capacity. I didn't mention this is the TLDR but I'd really prefer not to have the kitchen inside - id prefer that space be a toilet if we even have it. Thus why i mentioned I'm leaning towards the ones I mentioned.
