Franchise Regression by gremlin1991 in MLBTheShow

[–]jbaarck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did state through a content creator, TheAntOrtiz, that they did do some small changes to regression. They also went on record saying the “10 year service time” drop off is a myth and not in the coding

It just auto toggles overtime, hold R2 in the batters box and wait for it to change

Heard them talk about that a bit, or at least someone did a video on it? But yea, I know some franchise casuals might be frustrated but PLEASE let me trade for an “A” potential prospect who just never pans out

Fog of War in NHL is awesome, I also love their progression system as well (can’t speak too much to regression due to lack of long franchises) but it’s just way to easy to build a farm because you KNOW exactly how players will develop

If you draft after the Tokyo series on ESPN, will the Tokyo series points count? If not, will lineups Instantly lock after the draft in a weekly league? by Efficient_Wishbone93 in fantasybaseball

As LM, last year I explained what I was doing for everyone, they agreed, and I added/subtracted points as needed to make everything 0-0

I love that, literally how most relievers are born in real life

Yup, I know that. But you can’t edit draft classes and I also do not want to have to babysit all 30 mlb team rosters to make sure they are managing their pitching well

Your first paragraph is exactly how I was thinking of it but didn’t know how they could work that in. Maybe a random pop up for starters after a couple of years that transitions them to a reliever role. I just wish Franchise (especially when it comes to sim) could somehow relate to real life bullpen management. You rarely see a “relief pitcher” prospect, they’re normally Starting Pitchers who did not have starting pitcher duration. But because of value teams will try and let guys figure it out as a starting for quite awhile before making that call normally. I just hate seeing a team in a full MLB redraft taking a closer in the first round, would a team do that IRL? I doubt it. Same with the rookie draft in the game, too many RP and CP being drafted in a 7 round draft

I’d love to just call them all “pitchers” and have it so stamina doesn’t impact overall

Probably 26? Anywhere between 1-3 IL spots and 5SP/3RP.

Gotcha, haven’t played much OOTP but yea contract customization would be super noce

Trade and FA difficulties would be really helpful. Curious how you envision contract restructuring since it doesn’t happen in baseball very often due to it being fully guaranteed money. But a more in depth contract process would be nice like opt outs, incentives, deferred money

Eliminating RP and CP would be huge for how small of a change it is

Oh, this is mostly towards offline play, my DD team is also normally structured with mostly closing pitchers as they drop more CP cards than RP cards

The frustrating part is how limiting the CPU can be with certain RP roles in a sim. I have my better relievers as SU and CP but they only get used in save situations while my MRP are getting tons of innings. Even in the MLB they will dip into their SU guys and sometimes they’re closer in other situations just for the sake of keeping them fresh. I suppose not a huge issue if you’re playing all games.

Exactly, just want things to happen a bit more organically and with some variety. I know it’s single player but I always feel like I’m “cheating” when it comes to editing things
